Good, "Oldtimey" restaurant

They have good food, but it is a quite old "comfort" restaurant. Nothing flashy, but good food and good service.

A lot of food but pretty darn pricey for meat and bread. I asked for cheese but you couldn't taste the minuscule amount hiding on my sandwich. The potato salad was pretty blah. The service was cordial but certainly not warm. Check your check we were double charged for the matzah ball soup which actually was the best part of... More

Menu offers a variety that would offer something for just about anyone. The one reason to go here is for the possibly of sighting Larry King. Seen him once and that made it worthwhile.

If you on the lookout for a New York style deli and in need of good matzo ball soup this just might be the place. Lots of choices on the menu and reasonable portions with pickles on the side. The soup was very good as was the turkey on rye. The Cobb salad was disappointing. It was presented with bacon... More

We visited this restaurant as it was a short walk from our Hotel. The service is friendly and efficient. We were surprised by the size of the main meals - huge. Tip - order one and share. Dinner was great. We asked for a "doggie bag" to take away the leftovers and we couldn't finish our meals.

I've been going to Nate n Al's since it was a deli counter with a single line of small booths. Today it is larger with outdoor eating - same excellent quality food year after year. Most of the waitstaff has been working there for many years - and know the regulars well. These days a group from grade school days... More

Four of us had breakfast here. It was very good and large portions. Three of us spotted fried bologna on the menu...something none of us have had since we were kids. Two of us had it on the side and the other had it chopped into his scrambled eggs. All of us were delighted. Big, thick pieces that were so... More

Nate 'n Al was not what I expected. It was better. The food is good and plentiful; but don't expect fancy or delicate flavours. In the end, this is a diner and they serve deli-style food which we thought was reasonably priced. The place is an icon and has been around for a long time. Evidently their servers love their... This place has been in Beverly Hills for eons. A favorite place for Larry King and, I think, many other celebrities. Good food at decent cost. Check it out.

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
