Step inside Il Fornaio and take a culinary journey through Italy. Early mornings bring rustic, crisp crusted bread hot from the oven accompanied by the scent of fresh brewed espresso. During lunch and dinner hours, pastas and flavorful sauces simmer while meats and vegetables roast over hot coals. Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; housemade pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and housemade soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch. Winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2007.

Visited here for lunch after enjoying a stroll around Rodeo Drive. The whole place was a buz with lots of characters arriving and waiting for tables. The serice was fast and good, so we were very excited to enjoy the food. Alas we were shocked as it was so tasteless and bland, I could jot believe it - such a... More

My husband and I enjoyed a romantic dinner at Il Fornaio. Our server was eager to please and offered suggestions among his favorite menu items. While many might characterize this restaurant as functional, for us it was perfectly Italian. After calamari, our entrees of salmon and scallops were perfect. The tender, hot preparations were made to order and served with... More

We were a party of six and were seated in the bakery for dinner, which was less noisy and not as frenetic as the big room. We were not really done yet at the two hour mark, so service was not at all rushed. Prix fixe main courses were ample: half duck was meaty and well roasted to a rich,... More

I very much enjoy meals at this chain. The soup is always delicious and the salads are fresh. I always enjoy the salmon. This is a great place to take kids or co-workers. The restaurant has every type of patron on any given day. Is a safe bet for healthy and delicious food and I have always had good service.

The location is great, right on the corner of the less expensive shopping street as Rodeo Drive is one block over. I sat at the bar looking into the open kitchen, I had to ask twice for a menu and was not offered ice water or birthed water, again I had to ask for this. The server was pleasant enough... More

I had a wonderful Italian meal here. The staff at the hostess stand was very friendly. We received bread when we arrived at our table. I had the ravioli alla lucana (spinach ravioli stuffed with Italian sausage) and it was absolutely delicious. I thought it was great that you can choose your portion size. The restaurant is well designed with... More

My green salad with Quinoa was vegetarian and very delicious. Staff helpful and delightful. Beverly Hills pay-for- parking with credit card was across the street-- pay for what is needed. (So to speak).

It's getting old with grace but showing traces of neglect. The menu is the same, not too distinctive but it serves its purpose when running herrands in the area. Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
