Trendy Steakhouse ... but get ready for it !

I have been to the Penthouse with 2 friends. Reservations are mandatory, but it seems they often run late ... We had to wait for 30 minutes by the bar, what was not a hassle, since they do serve wonderful cocktails and the DJ was very good. As to the main courses, I had a 130 $ kobe tomahawk... read more

Traveling with my wife to LA, wanted for dinner a good steak, checked internet...Mastro's Steakhouse appeared on the top... Got a reservation.. Crowded... Great ambience ... Loud Music... Good expectations but.... Definitely not the best steak as many reviews stated... steak submerse in hot plate with a lot of butter, good steaks does not need butter... If you are looking... More

we have eaten in this place several times in the past and have always been very happy until Saturday night which was a disaster from start to finish. we arrived for our reservation to be advise they were running late as all the tables had been over booked so we along with about 30 other people stood around for 1... My girlfriend and I visited Mastro's for the first time while I was visiting in LA for St. Patrick's day. We heard nothing but good things prior to going, but upon arrival we were greeted with enthusiasm. The restaurant was busy and pricey, but worth every cent of it. I got the bone in filet and my girlfriend got the... More

I enjoyed the bone in ribeye steak. IT was seasoned well and so juicy. I also enjoyed the signature warm butter cake

Yep, it's expensive, however, you rarely get this "value" at a high end restaurant, especially in Beverly Hills. Mastro's lives up to its hype. I recommend the quieter section off of the main room, where you can have a conversation (the main room is 3-alarm noisy). The legendary steaks come on 400 degree plates. You won't finish everything, but you... More

For all of it's over the top hype, Mastro's is still the best steak in LA and one of my favorite places to go. Had dinner here for probably the 30th time last week and it's as good and going as ever. As a former New Yorker, I know what good steak tastes like and how a real steakhouse should... More

Any local knows about a Mastro's steak. It is mouth watering perfection every bite you take and tailored to your individual palette. The sides are through the roof and the pretzel bed is delicious and comes warn and salty. Go hungry and with no budget. The patio is great if you can get it. Dress to impress!

Great vibes, steak was perfect, very generous portions, great service. I sat on the second floor which I found to be more "bar & grill"-ish, as opposed to the penthouse section which looked a bit too contemporary and fine dining.

Fun spot. Good music. Good food. Great steaks and seafood platters. Reasonably priced wine list compared to other Beverly Hills spots. I missed having more of a burgundy selection but otherwise good. Good service with good attitude.

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
