We initially made a reservation on the top floor, not knowing the environment was designed to feel like the worst parts of a Las Vegas nightclub. Swirling blue lights, a "beat dropping" DJ and perhaps the loudest single room I've been in at any restaurant. Maybe it was because we were with a celebrity, but they quickly accommodated us, moving... More

Yes! Yes! Yes! It was a success! I can honestly say that my first experience here at the Mastro's Penthouse was amazing! I can't believe I procrastinated this visit for so long! I have to admit that after reading some of the reviews I prior to arriving I was a bit apprehensive about the whole thing. BUT I am a... More

This was our 2nd time and from prior experience we arrived about 10 minutes early for our 6:45 reservation and told our guests to come at 7:00 hoping that we will be seated around that time. As expected we were told that they were running a few minutes late with their reservations - ok no problem. After waiting about 20... More

This restaurant was highly recommended, but our experience was less that excellent. The sea bass was good, but one of the people at our table ordered a steak, and it was overcooked and tough as shoe leather. Once the waiter had delivered our food, he never came back to check on us until it was time for desert. When he... More

The atmosphere was great with a live singer providing a lovely back drop to the setting, the steak was really good, cooked... More

We were on a holiday and saw the great reviews on the restaurant. However I have to agree that the food is not that great. I had a sirloin strip, mac n cheese and cream spinach. Sides were great and in big portions but the steak was average, not quality meat and a little too cooked and charred. Ruth Chris,... More

The food was mediocre. The atmosphere like a low cost dinner from the 50s. The worse was the steak. It was difficult to cut. I do not remember having such a bad steak in long time.

Staying in Beverly Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.
