Bouchon does a nice job of recreating the aura of a classic, high-ceilinged Paris bistro. And if you order right, or are lucky, the results from the kitchen can be terrific: on our last visit, an heirloom tomato consommé was packed with flavor. Followed by the trout, it was a superb, light, refreshing meal. But others at our table were... More

This place has the potential to be a great place but the waitresses ruin it. It's a really cute place to eat and the food is yummy. Both the waitresses that served us today were very average and rude. If it wasn't for two waiters that came to the rescue we would have left.

I never expected to find French bistro cuisine of this authenticity and quality in the U.S. The steamed mussles were fresh and prepared in a subtle and simple yet sophisticated manner. Ditto for the fish and seafood stew, a speciality of the day. Staff was well-trained, polite and exceptionally attentive. I would come back any time.

Not good value. Ordered a double portion of the steak tartare appetizer and was served three tablespoons of chopped meat in tiny little mounds on a rectangular plate with four sad little potato chips. $30+ dollars for this portion? Mr. Keller should be ashamed. This ain't the French Laundry. Don't charge those prices for bistro food. Will not go back.... More

Too early for Spago, we were directed to Bouchon since we had another engagement and could not wait. Up-market sandwiches, cold cuts etc. Great for a quick bite, not for a substantial meal. Sophisticated, French feel (outstanding French bread). Nice setting. Quiche was excellent. Not a budget option, but good quality.

Dined this evening during dineLA Restaurant Week. Our group tried several different options from the Restaurant Week menu and all were amazing. For appetizers we had the chilled soup, kale salad and a raw salmon plate. All were excellent. For the main course we had the swordfish and brisket and both were well prepared and impressive. The desserts were amazing... More

Without a doubt, one of the best meals I have had. The oysters are amazing - you must try them! The bread served with dinner is fantastic. I had an anchovy salad (good), pesto rigatoni (delish but a little salty), and the lemon tart. Fantastic! A great place to see and be seen! You won't regret it!

I ate at the Bouchon bakery/coffee shop several times on a recent trip and enjoyed sitting in the open courtyard each day to have my treat. It's a great place to people watch and the coffee and bakery treats really are very special.
