They could charge twice the price and the place would still be packed

Its that kind of place, its not cheap, but usual interesting menu is supported by even more interesting specials. Always packed at lunch time. Lots of people enjoying - as I did this trip - the Demon Lover. Incredibly crispy boneless fried [I think] chicken served on top of a waffle, topped with... read more

Came here on a Saturday at noon for brunch. The wait was 45 minutes, with no stores nearby to waste time. The property itself is very small (diner like) with a covered patio in the back. Due to the busy nature of the restaurant, service is poor and ambiance is loud. Our group all had breakfast with the exception of... More

Great breakfast, loved the chicken apple sausage. I bought a bottle of the hot sauce to take home! Also has a few good vegetarian choices.

setting: Right this is on Grayson street #900. Lunch time is always very busy. Parking could be a challenge. Has a friendly, light and vintage feeling. Building feels to be like a good old cabin. Also patio seating available for the warmer days. On the flip side: there is a certain food garbage smell in the patio. Food: Healthy and... More

I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Pretty surprised to experience all the flavored of the food. And the grits were also very delicious!!

From the outside this restaurant in an industrial area of Berkeley doesn't look like much. But inside is a different story. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and fast. No wonder it's such a busy place. For lunch we split the namesake Grayson Burger and the specialty Demon Lover (Fried chicken breast and a buttermilk waffle). The... More

This is a popular restaurant in a fairly quiet part of town. There can be a wait for a table at busy times. The food is reasonably priced and everything looked good. My brunch was tasty and the portion was reasonable. This restaurant offers casual dining, but it can be a little haphazard when busy. Definitely worth the wait.

Saw this restaurant on Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives so went to check it out. There's a crowd waiting for the next open table. Friendly greeting, offered coffee while we waited. This is a 'come as you are' West Berkeley cafe. Tattoos and piercings abound. The food was decent but I think we had our hopes a little too high. We... More

I had the chicken and waffle. The waffle is not the super crispy kind but softer and like a sponge to soak up teh syrup. I got teh gravy with it. Great combo. The chicken was two pieces of breast fried and crispy. Perfect with the chicken gravy.
