Here on business and stopped in since I saw the sign out front for the New Coconut Mocha Freddo. It was around 5:00. Store was messy and dirty. The barista if you could call him that was worthless. Incorrect drinks were up and mine tasted like a watered down iced coffee with enough whip to kill someone. No coconut flavor.... More

I first heard of Peet's in the early 1980s when there were just a handful of stores, all in the Bay Area. I lived near Los Angeles, so I had to have beans shipped to me from their Emoryville roasting plant. Eventually, Peet's stores spread and I've visited many, but this was my first visit to the original Peet's. Of... More

Peets coffee & tea does sell some good quality coffee and a range of little treats to go with it. Certainly better coffee than Starbucks so do try it.

When I walk in and see the tapestries on the wall; when I see the tables filled w/ people talking or just working on their laptop; when I order my Chai or other of their wonderful teas; when I talk w/ long-time Peetniks -- the experience is so fine. Peets has a policy of investing in an area and almost... More

Mr. Peet was the original coffee roaster and Peet's coffee is still the best! You can buy many varieties brewed or bagged in multiple Berkeley Peet's or the grocery store.

The coffee at Peet's is the real thing--not like the watered down dish water that is sold at Starbucks. Peet's also has very good tea (in a pot with a real cup). Peet's will sell you great coffee and tea for you to take home and enjoy the Peet's experience again and again. There should be a Peet's store next... More

I hate franchise coffee. But this one still pretty good. They truly deliver. Much better than the mermaid one. Also I like the little coffee and tea gadgets arround.

Peet's is now a chain but this is the location where Mr. Peet started it all. For some reason, the coffee just tastes better here. Also a fine selection of teas.

I've been hooked on Pete's for 30 years and go everytime I am back in Berkeley. The aroma and quality of the coffee has always set the benchmark in my mind. I don't think I've ever had better coffee..anywhere. Thanks Mr Pete!

This is where it all started. Peets was one of the first coffee stores and went on to inspire others to get into the mass market coffee business. The coffee is dark and strong, so if you're from NY you might ask to have a little hot water added.
