Who knew I loved vegan food?

I was skeptical when we first visited, but the food at Cafe Gratitude is absolutely delicious, whether you are a vegan, a paleo, or anything in between. In multiple visits, I've never failed to polish off my food, which is always plentiful, creative, and delectable. Service is occasionally a bit... read more

Delicious food and so many choices for vegetarians and vegans! All of the desserts are worthy of much praise. Dinners warm your belly and heart. Amazing atmosphere. Great place to relax and spend quality time with people you care about :)

Had been looking forward to eating at Cafe Gratitude and our visits did not disappoint. I live near their LA restaurants but the Berkeley location really blows the Venice and Larchmont locations out of the water. Service was prompt and so warm. The food was absolutely delicious... It's so nice to go in to a vegan restaurant and have many... More

Cafe Gratitude has a sort of cult following. It specializes in vegan food. The food is fairly average but the room itself is quite interesting. It's also a good place to watch the scene, and you'll have time to watch, since the service is slow.

I ended up at Cafe Gratitude two times during my five day trip to Berkeley. The food is very tasty, but, if you have a nut allergy do not expect to find many options. The wait staff is pretty nice. I wish this place was a little more wallet friendly. Eight dollars for a seltzer with ginger and lemon is... More

We wanted dessert and to try this place. We split a piece of carrot cake a la mode. The cake sounded like it would be awesome but was so dry it needed the icecream. Also thought we were getting a piece that was in the glass case but it looked like they cut that in 1/2 so it was VERY... More

Friendly helpful wait staff, nice atmosphere, great food! It's rare to run into a really good organic wine but I found it here - just wish I had jotted down the name. I appreciate that the menu choices were interesting as well as healthy. There were four of us for dinner, each trying a different menu item - not one... More

Great food even if you are not a vegan or vegetarian. My daughter is a vegetarian and it is always nice to go to a restaurant where you do not have to look for possible dinners. The City of Berkeley has a lot of great vegetarian/vegan restaurants. This is one of the best. Staff was wonderful. Everything our waiter suggested... More

Five of us were looking for a vegetarian restaurant on a day trip to Berkeley, and this one was recommended by an acquaintance. We were a little unsure about trying an all-raw-food restaurant, but it turns out that they offer plenty of cooked food too. We started off with a great butternut squash soup and a bottle of wine, but... More

Though I would've loved to have written this place off as a pretentious spot, the food is wonderful. The food is pretty expensive, but hearty. The black bean burger is awesome, and the "BLT" is incredible.
