I was visiting San Francisco and decided to take a trip to Berkeley. A friend had recommended Cafe Gratitude so I went there for lunch - I was so overwhelmed that I had to come back for dinner. Delicious, vegan food in a nice setting. The raw sushi is yummy!

Need a throwback to 1960's Berkeley? This is the place for you! The food is excellent and healthy. Portions are generous and the dessert menu is wonderful. This is a local restaurant that offers vegan and raw food with catchy names such as "I am fabulous" or "I am grateful". I had the special of the day which was pad... More

Cafe Gratitude is one of my go-to food places in the Bay Area. I've been here at least 3 times since moving to Oakland, and feel great after each meal! While the names of the dishes are a little corny, the food is delicious and healthy. My first time here, I got the "I Am Hearty," which is essentially a... More

Where to begin without the hyperbole.... Creative menu, friendly service and knowledgeable staff this is a highlight not just from my recent trip to Northern California and the Bay Area but is a highlight from all my travels from around the world. For starters I had a shot of Wheatgrass Juice ("I Am Renewed") before launching into a glass of... More

I love this place and drive out from Davis just to eat here. The food it quite good, the ambiance nice, and the key lime pie to die for. Be warned: the soups are cold so go with an enchilada or something is you want warmth.

Where the food was healthy, there was a lot of vinegar on the salad and "hearty pizza", which killed any other flavors. A lot of vegan choices though. Pizza was not really pizza, it was a piece of bread, that was cold piled with vegetables and a vinegary sauce. For $12, it was a little disappointing.

As two vegetarians, we always look for places that offer variety and choice. Cafe Gratitude exceeded our expectations. The menu offers a nice selection of raw and cooked vegan options. Our food was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The service was super friendly. Overall, a great experience.

We had a very nice lunch at Cafe Gratitude. The wheatgrass juice was really good, and the salad (with grilled peaches) and the I Am Hearty pizza entree were very good. The meditteranean plate was ok. I will say the pizza portion size was not hearty--it was about the size of a hamburger bun, but it was tasty. Someone next... More

This place is a haven for people who want to eat health, organic food. Oddly enough, these restaurants are not easy to find! I thought it was fabulous and I left feeling great, not stuffed. Hopefully, these types of venues will be come common place all around the US. Eat here please!!!!

Fresh, organic, tasty and vegan. Well prepared, orignal and satisfying. Had the polenta with kale, mushrooms cashew ricotta cream sauce and almond parmigan. Blindfolded you would not know you were eating a vegan dish. Really casual, but really good. A little pricey - $ $ 1/2 signs.
