Great food even if you are not a vegan or vegetarian. My daughter is a vegetarian and it is always nice to go to a restaurant where you do not have to look for possible dinners. The City of Berkeley has a lot of great vegetarian/vegan restaurants. This is one of the best. Staff was wonderful. Everything our waiter suggested... More

Five of us were looking for a vegetarian restaurant on a day trip to Berkeley, and this one was recommended by an acquaintance. We were a little unsure about trying an all-raw-food restaurant, but it turns out that they offer plenty of cooked food too. We started off with a great butternut squash soup and a bottle of wine, but... More

Though I would've loved to have written this place off as a pretentious spot, the food is wonderful. The food is pretty expensive, but hearty. The black bean burger is awesome, and the "BLT" is incredible.

I am not vegan or raw, but because I don't eat gluten, corn or refined sugar and I like veggies, I end up at places like this when I can find them. This place has some items that are cooked, which surprised me. The black bean burger was one of them and it wasn't especially good. The raw nachos are... More

We had a really nice time here! We were surprised there as a wait at 2:00 pm for lunch, but it's clearly a popular place! We had a smoothie to start (I am sweet)-- strawberry flavored. It was great, and really wonderful on a hot day. Then, for food, we had the I am warm-hearted mushroom dish and the I... More

I was visiting San Francisco and decided to take a trip to Berkeley. A friend had recommended Cafe Gratitude so I went there for lunch - I was so overwhelmed that I had to come back for dinner. Delicious, vegan food in a nice setting. The raw sushi is yummy!

Need a throwback to 1960's Berkeley? This is the place for you! The food is excellent and healthy. Portions are generous and the dessert menu is wonderful. This is a local restaurant that offers vegan and raw food with catchy names such as "I am fabulous" or "I am grateful". I had the special of the day which was pad... More

Cafe Gratitude is one of my go-to food places in the Bay Area. I've been here at least 3 times since moving to Oakland, and feel great after each meal! While the names of the dishes are a little corny, the food is delicious and healthy. My first time here, I got the "I Am Hearty," which is essentially a... More

Where to begin without the hyperbole.... Creative menu, friendly service and knowledgeable staff this is a highlight not just from my recent trip to Northern California and the Bay Area but is a highlight from all my travels from around the world. For starters I had a shot of Wheatgrass Juice ("I Am Renewed") before launching into a glass of... More
