Our family ate here on a whim in July. We arrived around 4:00 PM and we were seated very quickly. The food selections are well rounded for all tastes. The fried chicken and the macaroni & cheese were great. Nice dessert selection as well. We were lucky enough to be seated along the front window so we were able to... More

Absolutely delicious food, great ambience and awesome service! Try the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and the Fried Cheese Grits! Swamp water is tasty, but only one glass, very sweet!

The space is great for small or large groups, comfortable and cozy. The have interesting beer and average wine. So it has to be about the food. So here goes, my gumbo was good but not show stopping. The salad with candied pecans were excellent, good starter. I thoroughly enjoyed by shrimp creole which is why it gets a very... More

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Angelines. The service was great and very accomodating with some dietary issues of my husband. We had the fried chicken and the fried catfish. Huge portions with yummy sides of green beans, sweet potato mash, potato salad and hush puppies. Think next time we go, will order entree to share and a salad.... More

I did find the food very average, heavy, but with good flavors, service and reasonable price. I had gumbo and my companion ordered chicken pasta. The ambience is very casual and the plates are big. I will probably explore other restaurants in Berkeley next time

The food was amazing. I found flavors that I didn't know existed. Excellent. Gumbo was surprisingly just adequate; but the shrimp creole was out of this world. Service was mediocre.

There've been some changes since my last visit, most of them not improvements. One exception is that the service is attentive and efficient, whereas formerly it was somewhat laid back. I didn't mind, but some other reviewers complained about it and I could see what they meant. The prices are still high. Two of us paid nearly $50 (including the... More

We wondered the street of Shattuck looking for a late lunch spot and stumbled upon this little jewel. I quick tipped my trip advisor and boom we had lunch. The service impeccable. Quick and courteous. Enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine (reasonably price around $8 ea). We chose our own salad and then split the main course of Voodoo... More

The food here was great and the service matched. Our 6:30 reservation was honored at 6:00 when we arrived early because of the rain, but by the time we left the place was packed...obviously popular. I had the VooDoo Shrimp. It was spicy-hot and absolutely delicious. It really did seem fairly authentic NOLA right down to the Abita beer selections.... More

I finally got a chance to try out this restaurant. I first called to see if a reservation was required on a weeknight and the hostess said it wasn't really full right now. Got there around 7 pm and she was right cause we were seated in less than 5 min. The place definitely was packed by the time we... More
