Good LA cuisine in a fun environment

I loved the converted location. It was noisy and the tables are small but it had a fun flavor. The waitstaff was so-so. They came by but I would not call them attentive. The gumbo had good flavor but not as many veggies and meat bits as I was accustomed to. The hush puppies are dense but good... read more

You can find good hush puppies, jambalaya (warning, heat level 5 out of 10) voodoo shrimp, and beignets right here. Did I mention that they were all delicious?

I love Southern Creole cuisine, especially fried chicken and gumbo. Several years ago, when Angeline's first opened up, I ate there and loved it! It was truly a unique experience. Not quite as good as New Orleans, but almost. Two weeks ago I again visited Angeline's after seeing Jurassic World. Truth be told, the fried chicken was overcooked, unfavorable and... More

This was our 2nd trip to this restaurant, and it was a wonderful experience again. Our group enjoyed sharing the hush puppies and gumbo to start, and the main meals also. Fried chicken, Jambalaya and catfish were enjoyed by all. Pecan pie was the finish. Great night, great food and great service. Fun environment

The food was very good but I must admit to being a little disappointed. My mom's family is from Louisiana and I lived there briefly. Angeline's food was good but not what I hoped for. I was so happy to get hush puppies but I like them with bits of sweet onion, and then paired with Tabasco. I'd hoped for... More

Popular and lively Spot for authentic Cajun/Creole eats! Make a Reservation (We were seated within 30-min without one on a Sat Night...) Rather small and loud but in a fun celebratory way. Great service and authentic New Orleans Food. LOVED Hush Puppies and Signature Voo Doo Shrimp. Jambalaya was tasty but lacked identifyable ingredients: would have liked some larger pieces... More

We picked this place off of yelp because it had 4 stars out of 2700 reviews. We know why. It is such a cute restaurant that transports you to New Orleans. The food smells amazing right when you walk in. We had the hush puppies as an appetizer, the fried chicken, the fried catfish, and the beignets. The hush puppies... More

This was our only meal in Berkeley on the day we visited campus. I asked around a couple of people on the street, but didn't get helpful answers for where to go for lunch. Luckily, we opted for this place after walking a few blocks. The food was really fantastic. I enjoy Cajun food, but wouldn't consider myself an expert.... More

We went to Angeline's with high expectations. The menu had all the right items, crawfish, gumbo and jambalaya. With five diners we had five different entrees and four side dishes, but none were outstanding. No problem with the service. It was prompt and efficient. Angeline's has a short, but adequate wine list. The sparkling lemonade was a nice touch. Really... More
