Fried chicken not to be missed

Great place. The fried chicken was outstanding. A 5 star, I had the voodoo shrimp, which the Sauce and rice were spectacular but the shrimp was undercooked and chewy! If the shrimp had been done correctly, the place would have been a 5

Wow! A Louisiana restaurant in Berkley! Now I have tasted all their typical food (swamp water, hush puppies, gumbo, jambalaya) and I just loved it! Athmosphere in restaurant was so cool also. Southern style.

My colleagues treated me to lunch here this week and I loved it so much I brought my family back for dinner. I do a lot of research in New Orleans and always eat there whenever I can. When I'm away I miss the food that only folks down there can make. I've lived in the Bay Area for seven... More

I take this client to lunch about once a month. My client wanted to try Angeline's because she had heard good things about it. She was disappointed. Berkeley is full of wonderful little restaurants. This is not one of them. The theme is good. The menu is excellent. The service was excellent. The food was.... My client did not like the... More

We first visited Angeline's a few years ago, but since then it has doubled in size. We had a short wait on a Friday evening. The food quality is excellent and the service is both friendly and efficient even on a busy night. Don't miss the hushpuppies. I've lived in the South, and these beat any I've ever had. The... More

When ever in the area always visit Angeline's at least once. Had the gumbo, crawfish étouffée and beignets. I was traveling alone for business so had the order of beignets all to myself. Oh yea!!!, they were good. Can't wait until back in the area to eat here again.

What great food. I had the BBQ shrimp for appetizers and the fried catfish for dinner last night. I'm still drooling about the flavorful food. Great variety of beer too. This place rocks. Need to be back.

After reading so many glowing reviews of the place, we were determined to try it the next time we were in Berkeley so last night was the night! We dropped in at 4:30 for a very early dinner as we had a performance at Berkeley to attend in the evening. Table was ready as promised and after seating, several of... More

A friend took me here for lunch, saying he had heard it was rated "the best restaurant in Berkeley." Wow. That is quite a claim, considering the caliber of dining establishments in the Bay Area, including Berkeley. But we were up for the experience. The atmosphere was casual, the interior not particularly interesting, but the menu offered descriptions of such... More

My friends & I were looking for a late lunch in Berkeley and stumbled upon this place. Having been to New Orleans numerous times the menu was a sight for sore eyes. The gumbo was dark & rich and loaded with Andouille; the shrimp Po'Boy was mounted with lots of tasty fried shrimp and dressed properly. Everything we had were... More
