Quiet Oasis close to UC Berkely Campus

We happened upon the Thai House as we strolled from campus and the wonderful aromas drew us in. The lunch specials are very reasonable. My husband enjoyed the spicy duck and I savored the mushroom chicken. The meal came with a sweet potato filled fried wonton, a lovely little salad spiced with... read more

We used to love this place when my husband attended school here in the 80's so we were so excited to return!! The rice came in a cute tin pot with a lot of rice so that was good but the Pad Thai which is a staple of any Thai restaurant was unedible! It was so sticky and the flavor... More

My wife and I came here with our two year old daughter. The food was delicious and fresh and felt authentic. More importantly, they went out of their way to accommodate our toddler, evening providing more pineapple when she picked all the pineapple out of the fried rice. The cost was also extremely reasonable. Highly recommend to anyone with a... More

During a recent college campus tour my son and I were tired and just looking for a restaurant were we could sit and kill some time. All of the restaurants we found were more like fast food shops where you order at a counter and then take your food to your table. While great in some situations and presumably less... More

Great food, goes well beyond Pad Thai. Food served with a sauce serving plate to add spices to suite your taste. Outdoor patio is a few feet above the street and landscaped to provide a bit of privacy from those walking by. Service very prompt and friendly.

We went to dinner with our son at the Thai House and were greatly impressed by the three choices: pumpkin curry, pad thai and basil tofu. All generous portions and well presented. Staff was superb.

Food here was fairly average Thai food - nothing to write home about. The imperial shrimp was not bad and had just about the right amount of heat. The Tom ka gai soup was ok but not as creamy coconutty as it could be and I did not taste any galangal in the soup, which made me feel that it... More

A group of us went to Thai House, a little concerned that the 8 of us would have to wait. Luckily, a group of tables had just been set up and we were seated immediately. I would say the service was the best aspect of this place. Our waitress and other staff people were constantly checking in, giving water, and... More

Very authentic, I've tried their Padthai, Red, Yellow and Green Curry and they were all very rich and filling. Service was above average, I highly recommend this place!

We were in Berkeley for a short vacation. Walking down Telegraph, we saw that most restaurants were fast food or very casual. Thai House is fun, relaxed, great service. The patrons were mostly young and it was a very eclectic Berkely crowd. We had pad that, a cucumber salad, excellent ginger tea (which could have been served hotter) and a... More
