King Tsin...great space but needs sprucing up staff

Slightly above average Chinese food can be eaten at the bar while watching a game on the tv's. Last night's Warrior game filled the small bar space. Drinks were average, and so is food. Staff does not behave like they have been adequately trained. Waitress had trouble with brand names of drinks... read more

This restaurant is undergoing a renaissance with much better food than it had a year ago, and the fact that it is attracting more customers shows that the word is getting around. The menu is extensive, and for those familiar with Chinese food, the choices are unlimited. We especially like the rock cod served with tofu in a black bean... More

We have eaten many lunches here. They have a special lunch menu that is very reasonable and filling. My wife usually has enough left for the next day's lunch. Good Chinese food.

King Tsin introduced fine Chinese restaurant food to the East Bay in the 1960s. There was none before. Maybe not quite as good as Kirin, a much later arrival, but very good and less expensive.

September 19, 2014: We tried to call in a take-out order for items we've ordered from this restaurant for years. First we asked for Egg Custard Buns. The person on the phone got very confused and we were not able to order them. Then we asked for barbecued pork buns. The person on the phone said very slowly "Pork ...... More

We recently had a scrumptious dinner at King Tsin. Luckily for us all, its brief (and unsuccessful) sojourn under new management is over. Albert is back and King Tsin's classic favorites are better than ever. Starters of traditional turnip cake, potstickers and Shiao Loong Bao (my favorite dumplings) were terrific. Pan Touched Chicken was as good as ever, Spicy Shrimp... More

First time there for lunch today. Wanted to find a good chinese restaurant, we had been to another place on Solano recently and we disliked it, so let's try this place it's been there for years. Nice space inside. The staff is a little off, they don't say much and they don't really look at you, kinda weird. Anyway, we... More

This is the first time we have eaten here. I believe it is under new ownership but I could be wrong. The portions are HUGE, the prices are comparable and the taste is divine. We were surprised that more people were not in the restaurant but it seems like the city shuts down on Sundays because even the streets were... More

Every dish we ordered was a Huge Disappointment and was, frankly, Horrible .... The restaurant is obviously under new ownership and the skilled chefs... More

I recently stopped for lunch and ordered Kung Paola chicken. I was brought Saechwan chicken. When I told the waitress of the error she actually told me there were two Kung Pao dishes on the menu! And I should have told her which one I wanted when I ordered. Absolute nonsense . She just walked away. The quality of the... More
