Good burritos

I've been going here a few years and they always are consistently good. Good portions for the Grande Burritos. Good, fresh ingredients.

I'm an Elmwood district local. I was born down the street at Alta Bates, raised in a house 3 minutes walking from Gordo Taqueria, and attended middle school at Willard. I have been eating at Gordos since before I can remember and for most of us natives, saying anything less than 5 stars about Gordos is plain blasphemy. Gordos is... More

Very good food at a decent price. I liked the beef burrito with all the extras. Hard shell tacos are fried up when you order them. Excellent.

Gordo’s has a number of locations in the Berkeley area and also at least one in San Francisco. The Elmwood location in Berkeley has been up and running for at least fifteen years. Over that span of time, I have gotten food at Gordo’s at least 150 times. I am not alone in being a creature of habit. It is... More

While these are not the most creative burritos I have ever eaten, they are tasty and satisfying and the price is quite incredible. We like to order the Gordo Plate, which includes rice and beans, salsa and a meat or chicken as well as a couple of tortillas, all for less than $10. There are a few seats in this... More

This is an extended family favorite, and is always a good bet for a taco fix. The plate option is your best dollar bet taco wise, as you can make each one exactly as you want it. Or if you're burrito inclined, their versions are massive. And the quesadillas are not for the cheese adverse, they really load them up.... More

We go to the one on Solano. The burritos are okay - nothing outstanding. They do prepare them fairly quickly. My husband, on the other hand, absolutely loves this place. So it depends on how you like your burrito, I guess.

I usually hit the one on Solano, but have experienced the one on College, as well as in the city on 9th Ave. I'm from LA, where crispy tacos rule. Gordos makes a damn good cripy taco. . Some of us get tired of the healthy food craziness finding its way into Mexican food. Yes, I want some grease. Yes,... More

Stopped by for lunch. The chicken burrito was one of the best I have ever had. Coming from the northeast, I am not the authority on Mexican food. But the food was fresh. The black beans we nice and firm and not mushy like they would be from a can. The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. A nice... More
