Karachi Lamb, Tikka Masala, Tandori Fish or Chicken, and the ground lamb kabob... don't forget the Nan. In fact ALL the lamb dishes rock... the chicken tikka masala is a bit too creamy/sweet for me, they have goat curry sometimes and while there's bones to deal with, worth the work! Order the Nan as you need it so it comes... More

I enjoyed great food here, but when using the bathroom it does give you a behind the scenes look at the place that raises a few questions about the hygiene of the place. It is unfortunate, because I really enjoyed the food. Hopefully they'll respond to this concern being raised here by Nicholas, sr6266 etc. I'd go back.

Let me preface by weakly claiming to know authentic Pakistani food. I spent a couple of summers in Pakistan and certainly got my fill of authentic food (mostly in a good way but some serious stomach related side effects too). Anyway I went to Kabana with a friend who had rave things to say about it. I got the chicken... More

Again a recommendation from someone who knows what good food looks and tastes like. Without the recommendation I probably would not have walked through the door as decor is clearly not a priority for the owner. However so glad I did. We shared tandoori lamb chops and tandoori fish, a super tasty channa dahl and a freshly cooked garlic naan... More

The only thing preventing me from giving this place an excellent rating, is its cleanliness. That's a pity since the place is quite small that it should be an easy task to accomplish! The food itself was delicious and served in ample amounts. Next time will probably order take out!

It certainly isn't trying for a Michelin star. As a matter of fact, the restaurant is quite cramped, and they do not allow any alcohol. The best thing to do is to take out, and try their shammi kababs and paratha with a bottle of Bruichladdich. There, smokiness meets smokiness! When you order on the phone, tell them not to... More

This is the first thing we do when we fly in from MT, where there is NO ethnic food. OMG- this place is the best. The tandoori fish is a must. Gotta have the palak paneer, as well as the dal and the naan. If they have the goat curry, do it. If you get freaked out about things needing... More

We were staying in Berkeley and went here based on the reviews on trip advisor - we were not disappointed. The restaurant was almost full, we were seated quickly and before long we had decided on tandoori chicken (after we saw an amazing one come out), panak peneer and curry lamb. It was all delicious. The servings were big so... More

I first discovered Kabana when I moved in to an apartment around the corner nearly 3 years ago. Even though I have since moved to a different apartment in another part of berkeley, I will bike 20 minutes just to eat at Kabana! Their food is incredibly flavorful with good portion sizes for the prize...enough for two meals when I... More

now the restaurant has added white table cloths, but the food is still wonderful, fragrant, tasty and very reasonable. it is truly a local pakistani place with loyal customers and great service. it is worth any wait and they do take out. ovens are going smoking and flavorful.
