Delicious....but

After two visits and not an exhaustive assessment of everything on the menu, I can confirm that it is truly delicious. One of my measures for good Mexican is the chile relleno. It has to be a fresh pasilla chile, grilled skinned and stuffed with Mexican cheese, fried in a delicate but substantial... read more

I go there a lot ( I live in Berkeley). To begin from the least relevant: it is on 4th street. Which is a very lively shopping area ( the presence of an Apple Store indicates the kind of shopping involved). The food is excellent. The only better Mexican food I ate in the US was at Oakland's Dona Tomas,... More

It's great to visit CA where one can get awesome Mexican food almost everywhere. Had the carne asada tacos and they were soo good. I also had some veggie ones and they were just as good. Fun atmosphere and quick service.

I will never go there. The portions are small we ordered a few food and still came out hungry. It is also expensive for the food they offer. Do not go there if you are hungry!!

Besides the fact that the chips that came with the guacamole were extremely hard, the food was very good. This restaurant is in a nice outdoor mall and the outside dining part is nice.

We have been coming here for lunch for years because the food is excellent and authentic. Always busy, usually a fast turnover of tables. You order at the counter then pay and take a table number. Minutes later you food arrives. They have the best guacamole with chips and we always start with that. Plenty for a couple enough to... More

Delightful place, we have usually had breakfast there, but today we tried lunch. Superb food, tacos with pulled pork was delightful. Chile Relleno was exceptionally good, just enough bite to it. We were able to seat outside and enjoy the local scene. One thing could be better,,,no beer outside. Need to find a way to change this.

We were walking at 4th Street at Berkeley, and when I saw the name "Tacubaya", I told my husband the name is a section of Mexico City, so the food has to be Mexican style, so we decided to have lunch here, and we were more than surprised starting with the decoration, of black and whites frames pictures of some... Came in after some boat work at Berkeley Marine Center. Got 2 Tacos al Pastor, chips, salsa and a lemonade. Short wait and they being the food to you with a number flag. Flavorful food and just the right amount of spice. Thanks for a quick and delicious lunch!

Ate at Tacubaya during a stay in Berkeley. Hotel staff reccomended it. Food was fresh and service was fast. It is an order at counter/staff brings your order to your table type restuarant. Not fancy but excellent food for an excellent price!
