Great little Mexican restuarant.

Ate at Tacubaya during a stay in Berkeley. Hotel staff reccomended it. Food was fresh and service was fast. It is an order at counter/staff brings your order to your table type restuarant. Not fancy but excellent food for an excellent price!

We were walking at 4th Street at Berkeley, and when I saw the name "Tacubaya", I told my husband the name is a section of Mexico City, so the food has to be Mexican style, so we decided to have lunch here, and we were more than surprised starting with the decoration, of black and whites frames pictures of some... Came in after some boat work at Berkeley Marine Center. Got 2 Tacos al Pastor, chips, salsa and a lemonade. Short wait and they being the food to you with a number flag. Flavorful food and just the right amount of spice. Thanks for a quick and delicious lunch!

Love the enchilada and fish tacos. We like to eat eat here every time we come to California. Very busy. Parking is a challenge. Food is worth it.

This restaurant is always busy- for a good reason. Breakfast is delicious - usually there are a few specials as well as a varied menu. Lunch includes crispy tacos, salads and tamales with amazing mole sauce. The employees are always cheerful and helpful. A table outside, child rellenos and an agua fresca- perfect lunch in Berkeley!

A local place to eat with great food and great prices...also has outside eating. This is a find that mostly the local know about and now I know why. Had 2 fish tacos that were very fresh and tasty so decieded to have 2 more. Whenever I am in this area of Berkley would try to eat my meal here... More

The location just around the corner from 4th street Berkeley's shopping area is the first plus point. Supposed Mexican specialties are served although not the elaborate ones. Tacos, soups, other tasty dishes and so on. You go to the cashier, chose your stuff, pay for it and sit at one of the tables waiting for the first available guy to... More

In the clutter of multiple restaurants in the 4th Street area, this is one I will plan to avoid next time... there are better options, especially if you are actually hungry - I ordered two fish tacos which were relatively small, plus one had sauce on it and the other didn't - not sure what is going on there but... Not the typical Mexican or Tex-Mex menu although many of their items are familiar sounding they will proffer new flavours and sensorial delights. Whether you choose breakfast lunch or dinner. The beverage list is full of tropical offerings as well as imported beers and wines. The staff is helpful, friendly and quick, even if there is a line to get... More

Casual, stand in line to order, then food is brought to you at indoor or outdoor tables. I have eaten there several times and it is always excellent. Much more authentic and creative than the usual combo/rice/beans plate that seems to have taken over most of the Mexican restaurants in the US.
