The location just around the corner from 4th street Berkeley's shopping area is the first plus point. Supposed Mexican specialties are served although not the elaborate ones. Tacos, soups, other tasty dishes and so on. You go to the cashier, chose your stuff, pay for it and sit at one of the tables waiting for the first available guy to... More

In the clutter of multiple restaurants in the 4th Street area, this is one I will plan to avoid next time... there are better options, especially if you are actually hungry - I ordered two fish tacos which were relatively small, plus one had sauce on it and the other didn't - not sure what is going on there but... Not the typical Mexican or Tex-Mex menu although many of their items are familiar sounding they will proffer new flavours and sensorial delights. Whether you choose breakfast lunch or dinner. The beverage list is full of tropical offerings as well as imported beers and wines. The staff is helpful, friendly and quick, even if there is a line to get... More

Casual, stand in line to order, then food is brought to you at indoor or outdoor tables. I have eaten there several times and it is always excellent. Much more authentic and creative than the usual combo/rice/beans plate that seems to have taken over most of the Mexican restaurants in the US.

We've been here a number of times in the last few years when visiting Berkeley and always enjoy the simple clean flavors at Tacubaya. The Tuna Ceviche special was flavorful, as was the grilled corn. The tacos were good as always, except a bit under seasoned, and I would have like the filling of my Al Pastor hotter. And they... More

We weren't put off by the cafeteria style service but my daughter was disappointed no burritos and got chicken quesadilla instead. Two small soft tacos with chicken came on an otherwise a barren plate. You come to expect a little more for the money. The food was tasty but with so many options in the area probably won't be returning.

This place offers great authentic Mexican street food. Tacos and salads are great, as is the vegetarian tamale. Pro tip: breakfast, especially the huevos divorciados paired with their fantastic latte (served in a huge bowl like the French would do...). We love this place.

Could see what I think were hand made tacos behind the bar. Absolutely excellent, not to mention the Tamales that are also delicious. Went there three times for a fast dinner during a seven days stay in Berkeley.

I was going to headline my review Yummy and then I noticed how common that reaction to Tacubaya is among other reviewers. This little tacqueria has great food at reasonable prices--yummy indeed. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. I've tried a number of the restaurant choices in the Fourth St. area and so far this is my favorite.

Great pork tacos here! Nice and spicey. Suggestion: drink water instead of ordering drinks because they are pricey!
