If you like S. Indian food this place is definately a great spot to go. There aren't fancy table linens or things of that nature. Probably not a place to go for the ambience either because it appears to be in an industrial area and it is also connected to the grocery store. Great dosas, chaat and pooris....oh, and the... More

Vik's Chaat has some awesome gluten free Indian food. I strongly recommend the gluten free vegetarian dosa (available only on the weekends) and the gluten free pakora. The soup that comes with the dosa is filling and perfectly spiced. If you have a couple bucks get a chai (small but worth it). My non-gluten free meat-eater boyfriend loves the lamb... More

The line was out the door so we almost didn't stay. It went fast and I'm glad we did. There is dedicated parking and lots of street parking. We ordered 6 different dishes so we could try different tastes. The flavors were amazing. The place smelled good, was clean, lots of seating, and efficient staff. The only negative was that... More

Indian food at its best. This is not a fancy place. Very clean and you must get the big puffy thing as its so good and like nothing you ever had. The drinks are very good also. Lots of other places to check out on 4th street 5 blocks north. And if its a weekend go to Urbana and get... More

So having grown up in New Delhi and traveled India eating chaat where ever I have been, I am never fully satisfied by any of the try places that I've tried. Usually there are some dishes that are great but others that fall flat on their face. Now I've been visiting Vicks chaat for the last 12 years and the... More

We've never been to India, but Vik's reminded us of the hawker centers in Singapore -- never mind the decor, just concentrate on the food. The furniture is basic, the plates are paper, and the utensils are limited to plastic "sporks" -- but the food is tasty and the samosas are to die for. At Vik's you decide what you... More

What an exciting jump into authentic and tasty Indian street food just around the corner in Berkeley! Just listen to the names of the folks being called to collect their order.... a lot of Indian names and look around to see the Indian families feasting together... a really good sign that this is the genuine thing! Loved their lamb dishes,... More

VIK's has been a tremendous success since the day it opened. The food is good and fairly priced. Don't go at peak hours, but go and get some authentic, Indian food here. There's plenty of parking, and they even have a well stocked grocery store, next door.
