I have loved coming here for years. Great Chips and Salsa, Carne Asada, Pinto Bean Nachos, Ceviche, and Carnitas. You really can't go wrong anywhere on the menu. The fruit Bebidas are refreshing. Service is fast and prices reasonable.

Picante has a fast-food atmosphere with restaurant-quality food. The prices were a little high (especially for the drinks), and I was disappointed that chips & salsa did not come free with the meal. The salsa that came with the chips was a little bland, but the taquitos were excellent.

I went with our family to Picante for supper last night. It was packed nearly all the tables were full. We had corn chips with an avocado and a tomato based salsa which were freshly made crunchy ad the dips tasty. Then we had a salad platter which came with black beans and was again fresh and tasty. I had... More

Authentic food production and pretty nice setting with a few outside tables. Ordered steak tacos with black beans and found it very satisfying quality and quantity. You will like the salsa fridge which had four different salsa sauce styles, just go to the fridge and help yourself! Tacos always washed down with a glass of cold beer - perfect!

This Mexican restaurant is consistent and wonderful. It is especially busy on week-ends, after soccer games and other family activities. They offer outside seating for nice weather days and evenings, as well as authentic delicious, something-for-everyone fare. They even have a bar with a full variety of tequilas and beers from South of the Border. This used to be called... More

The food may become boring if you go too often. But after a while you may miss it. Although the menu does not seem to change, the choices are good. Perhaps because they don't change. Try their Cesar salad or, better, the cocinita peril (I love it). The ambiance is cheerful and informal (you order at the counter) and everybody... More

A colleague who grew up in Berkeley suggested three of us meet there for a business lunch. I had never been. It's almost a cafeteria style as you order first and then the waiter brings your food to your table. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. We sat at a booth and were able to talk away... Took a client for lunch. Both ordered enchiladas. Chicken was dry and not good. The salads looked great, but didn't try one. I didnt even finish my food. It was cold by the time I was way done. I'm on the fence with recommending this place.

Fast and friendly service with authentic Mexican. Don't miss the hot chocolate. It was so yummy and you get a big mug of it. I tried the cochinita pibil was so good. The pork was flavorful and tender. The plantains were perfect: crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. My daughter loved her steak taco. I can't forget... More

My husband and I grabbed a quick dinner here and it was fantastic. The food was fresh and very tasty and we noticed the tortillas are made fresh at the main counter. We wish we lived closer to this establishment because it is delicious affordable food, a rare find! On our next vacation in the area we will definitely be... More
