This is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. I am lucky enough to live so close to this charming and accomplished French bistro, with the best onion soup I have had outside of Paris. I have been coming here since the first week chef Todd opened it, and it has only gone from strength to strength as far as the food goes.... More

The good: Ratatoilee, bouillabaisse, salade roquette (sweet melon, prosciutto & arugula) was great, and the featured wine of the day (a Russian River rose). The okay: steak frittes (good fries, order medium rare was medium and accompanied sauce unremarkable), tarte flambée. The not so good: mussels (mussel meat small, broth lacked flavor - not much wine, garlic or butter -... More

I just love this place! Not the stuck up, healthy California cuisine you always read about in the San Francisco Chronicle; just downright tasty food you might experience in a French bistro off the beaten path in Paris. Their Bouillabaisse is superb. Best, I've ever eaten since visiting the Cote d'Azur! The menu is varied and typically French. Les Moules,... More

This cosy little restaurant is a true gem in the fabulous crown of Berkeley cuisine. Some may find it crowded, but I liked the feeling of being transported to Europe for a couple of hours. The staff is attentive but not overbearing and they clearly enjoy working there. The salade niçoise was the best I've ever had.

This charming French bistro had delicious and authentic french bistro food. Both my meal of salmon and my husbands meal of chicken were superb. Delightful atmosphere. too.

It was a few years ago that we last visited Bistro Liaison and we loved it - we has occasion to be in Northern California and decided to go again - if anything it has improved with age - it is a charming restaurant with outstanding food and excellent service - we are very happy to have gotten the chance... A good brunch spot. Stake comes out rarer than you may want. Lots of older professor! Academic types - interesting conversations to enjoy if dining solo!

Happiness that Liaision is open at lunchtime again, and we have our favorite meal of mussels from PEI in a delicious broth, crispy pommes frites, olive bread and veggie. Unfortunately, since the broth has spinach, the only veggie offered is spinach in the salad now. Hopefully, the menu will return to the string-beans for a veggie. Good, attentive service and... A large group of us had dinner here recently prior to taking in a play at the Berkeley Rep with all having a great experience. The food is quite rich, so be prepared. However everything sampled from the beef bourguignon to pork loin to seafood was very flavorful and savory, just the type of dishes for a winter meal. The... More
