Open for Lunch, again

Happiness that Liaision is open at lunchtime again, and we have our favorite meal of mussels from PEI in a delicious broth, crispy pommes frites, olive bread and veggie. Happiness that Liaision is open at lunchtime again, and we have our favorite meal of mussels from PEI in a delicious broth, crispy pommes frites, olive bread and veggie. Unfortunately, since the broth has spinach, the only veggie offered is spinach in the salad now. Hopefully, the menu will return to the string-beans for a veggie. Good, attentive service and... A large group of us had dinner here recently prior to taking in a play at the Berkeley Rep with all having a great experience. The food is quite rich, so be prepared. However everything sampled from the beef bourguignon to pork loin to seafood was very flavorful and savory, just the type of dishes for a winter meal. The... More

3 of us had dinner here, 2 of us for the first time. It was an early dinner. Good selection of starters, although the oysters were mostly small. We also had the Mushroom Tarte "pizza" which was very tasty. Entrees were good: Crab stuffed Sole; Excellent combination, Delicious sauce, Bouillabiasse, Average And the evening special: Cod. This was also nicely... More

We have eaten at this restaurant several times and have always had a good experience. The other night we had their mussels, the broth was delicious but somehow the mussels were very stringy and they just did not want to leave their shells – we are not sure what caused that. Their Salade Lyonnaise was fresh and very tasty. The... More

This is a solid little bistro, with a nice selection of food. The basic menu is always reliably good. Specials of the day range from delicious (soups especially), to trying-a-bit-too-hard. But choose well and you can have a wonderful meal here. The sole and most of the fish is great, the "croques" are good, and the tarts are nice thin-crust... More

My husband and I went to the restaurant last night. The food was generally nice; the bouillabaisse could have done with a more interesting selection of fish (as one would get in Marseille), but the broth was very nice. The tuna was very good. The service was rather disorganised though: we were served by at least four different people who... More

Sorry that the Bristro Liaison is closed at lunchtime -- thus, limits our visits, because we leave campus at noon. For my birthday, I chose this restaurant, because I miss their mussels-and returned to campus for dinner. Wonderful as ever; also, quiet at 5pm

always good. The Tomato salad was perfect, great tasting with pine nuts, pesto and a goat cheese sauce. Then a roast pork and peach dish. All wonderfully late summer, seasonal and fresh. Real French fare in a great restaurant town.

It was good, but for some reason I was expecting more. We had early reservations, and when we arrived, I told the waiter how I had watched the show "Check Please" and talked to him about the onion tart and told him we would like to start with that. I explained to the waiter that we had eaten here a... More
