I highly recommend the soufflé pancake (apple brandy) and house made scrapple. We also ordered two eggs any style which we also liked. Place is busy, so you usually have to put your name down and wait a bit. After putting our name down, they will usually tell you how long the wait might be and when to check back.... More

There's always a line because the food's always fine. Betty's reminds you of phrases like that but it's all true. Baked goods - superb. Best chicken salad and meat loaf ever. Breakfast is always just right and remember Bette likes to undercook the eggs so if you don't like 'em runny, just say so. Great service, wonderful sitting at the... More

May 13 With time to kill before going to the airport, we knew our trip would not be complete without dining at Bette's. We've tried to get in before, but the long wait times discouraged us. Now we will be more persistent and arrive about 10:30. Still we had to wait. We visited Bette's To Go next door to check-out... More

Had read about the souffle pancakes so had to check it out. Also ordered regular buttermilk pancakes. Both yummy! Husband had special of the day -- chicken & waffles. He said the fried chicken reminded him of a childhood friend's mom's cooking. Waitress was very nice in spite of being very busy. Goodies from the bakery next door were yummy,... More

Bette's has what I consider legendary pancakes. Period. It is a retro hole in the wall diner in Berkeley which is really great breakfast eating. The basic pancakes (with a tiny container of maple syrup) is 6.25 for two pancakes. When I asked for a little yoghurt, some strawberries and a small orange juice, without consulting the prices (stupidly), my... More

Great food. We were there on a weekend and out wait was around 45 minutes, but well worth it. I ordered pancakes and it was so light and fluffy.

Old fashioned diner with super breakfast pancakes as well as lunch menue for any palate. Loved the down home atmosphere as well as service. Put you name on the list, take a 'walkabout' and return for a 'right-priced' meal.

Had a delicious brunch here with our grandchildren. My husband says the French toast is the best he has ever had. Friendly staff, quick service and really good food. Scrambled eggs done to perfection. Hope to go back sometime.

Looking for lunch, this place was very busy so we waited in line. Sandwiches and specials and meatloaf that is supposed to be great. Food was fresh, my club was very good. Will go again.
