Description: Rivoli strives to be a hands on, moderately priced restaurant with simple and creative food, carefully selected wines and comfortable service in a warm and lively atmosphere. Rivoli’s distinction comes from the heart and soul of its owners and staff. The menu relies on what is seasonal, local and fresh, using mostly organic produce, sustainably caught fish and naturally raised meats and poultry. The wines are selected for their affinity with the food, and offer the best values from the cooler regions of California and the Old World. The dining room staff provides friendly and attentive service and the chefs and cooks are skilled artisans of their craft.

If you have read any of my other reviews, you know that I am a foodie, and that I travel on my stomach. So when I say that this is my favorite restaurant in Berkeley, you know that this is REALLY good! The chef-owner, Wendy, and her partner, Roscoe, own this restaurant and Corso Trattoria, and both of them habitually... More

We celebrated a family birthday here last night, and Rivoli Restaurant excelled in every way! I ordered the Grilled Moroccan Chicken. Some may think, oh, it's just chicken, but it sounded intriguing. I ordered it and am so very glad I did. It was amazing! The chick pea fries were phenomenal, and the entire dish had the perfect blend of... More

We arrived without reservations early on a weeknight and were seated with some hesitancy (on the part of the hostess) near the hallway. The dining room was attractively designed and I enjoyed the peacefulness of the window wall. The sommelier suggested a few wines based on our tastes, but we decided to just order by the glass. His presumption that... More

The food was excellent, we had great service and were so happy to find this small restaurant. There were older couples celebrating events, people who had been there many times and were personally greeted by the staff, young families and couples. For me, a mix of ages is always a good sign in a restaurant.

When my foodie family came to town, I wanted to be sure to feed them well so I knew Rivoli was a must. But hey, why not go a bit overboard, as they did travel from the East Coast? So I pitted Rivoli against that famous house on Shattuck. While I find it very difficult to say anything bad about... More

I know there are many, many great restaurants throughout the north bay area through Berkeley and surrounding communities. So why review one of them? Because this restaurant combines a farm to table philosophy with some creative cuisine, and top notch staff. The owner/chef appeared throughout the evening to check on her guests, and encouraged feedback on what was being prepared... More

Went for dinner with my wife and with an old friend. The 3 of us had different entrees and each of us was pleased. The food was delicious with good presentation. The service was great but non intrusive. The beautiful garden scene completed the wonderful dining experience.

1. Wonderful ambience; great lighting, white tablecloths and friendly staff; not stuffy, but not too informal either. Get a table by the window looking onto the beautiful atrium courtyard filled with beautiful plants. Our table was decorated with small happy birthday glitter pieces on the tablecloth awaiting us! 2. The wine list is online; worth taking a look at ahead... More

Rivoli has been the go-to restaurant in the East Bay for 20 years. Always consistent, with an innovative menu and impeccably fresh food. The service is the best. You always feel pampered here without pretension. A great value in a beautiful intimate space.

I've seen the good reviews on this restaurants and thought I would give it a shot. It had a nice and cozy atmosphere. I was the first one arrived at the restaurant and got seated near the entrance/kitchen instead of near the window with nice view even though the restaurant was completely empty and there were tables available for two...
