Pricey drinks, good vibe

The bartenders were incredibly friendly and helpful, but the drinks were a bit expensive for what they were. Good vibe, but there isn't a ton of seating in the bar area and it gets cramped quickly.

Our first experience here did not disappoint. Service was excellent and the food, kale salad and halibut were perfect as was the excellent Pinot Grigio bottle of wine. A little too loud, but not as loud as other restaurants.

Last Saturday, my husband and I saw this "Happy Hour" sign placed on the side walk outside of this restaurant so we decided to order two drinks. The bartender then told us that "There is no Happy Hour on Saturdays" and two drinks were $24; we asked the manager why the sign did not mention Saturday exclusion of the Happy... More

Two martinis, one glass of wine, 2 teeny portions of lukewarm soup (sent back once, too hungry to bother again), 3 teeny appetizers (one ok, one meh, and one barely edible), and two cups of coffee -- $100.00. Slow as molasses service. Avoid this rip off.

This was my third meal at Revival in the last year and all have been excellent. My daughter & I ate here before a performance at Berkeley Rep (the restaurant is a two minute walk from the theater) and were very happy with our meal. She ordered a gimlet and I had the Jalisco Mule. It was delicious and spicy... More

Revival's small plate offerings simply don't work. A $9.00 asparagus appetizer had exactly five stalks, cut wastefully in half and drenched in an unidentifiable sauce. A New Orleans gumbo arrived with three tablespoons of soup in an oversized bowl, no hint of sausage, fish or chicken. We returned that one. For a restaurant bill for $100.00 the four of us... More

good service for food that used to be great, though overpriced, but has become horrible. The waiter apologized, but the manager on duty was useless and our bill had a $20 error. GO ELSEWHERE.

Since it right at the corner of Berkeley Rep, its a great place for pre-theater. You can have a salad, soup, charcuterie or entree. The service can be spotty which is important for a pre-theater restaurant. Sometimes waiting for the check can be an ordeal. It is also a bit noisy if you're planning on meeting a few couples to... "I'm so disappointed! The ambiance here looked so inviting: lots of people; delicious smells; interesting menu and great decor. But then I sat down at the bar. After a couple hours of "playing tourist" in Berkeley, I was looking forward to sitting and enjoying dinner. I placed my bag and camera on the bar. Before I even had time to... More

We visited on a Friday night and the joint was hopping. Luckily, we were seated far from the bar and the group of four boisterous revelers who could have been stand-ins for blokes at a Liverpool pub. The service was very good; the waiter asked if we were going to the theatre, and since we had tickets at the Marsh,... More
