This is an icon in Berkeley and deservedly so.Knowledgeable owners/staff,samples,and fantastic cheese. The pizza place next door is part of it too and is wonderful with great, fresh pizza, live music, and a diverse crowd. Just how you think Berkeley will be. Chez Pannise is across the st.

Great cheeses very reasonably priced, but the crowd is a little overwhelming. And, they don't have a cheese grinder, so my desire for grated Parmesan Reggiano went unsatisfied. But, the Wisconsin Blue Cheese wedge is perfect!

THE CHEESEBOARD COLLECTIVE is a medium-sized market that specializes in cheeses from around the world, and that also sells a wide variety of specialty breads. Regarding the breads, what Cheeseboard sells is surpassed only by the artichoke bread that is made and sold at ARCANGELI GROCERY located in Pescadero, CA. (Arcangeli's artichoke bread, which is sold in a form that... More

Whenever we are on a road trip anywhere near SF/Berkeley, we make sure to stop by for a bread and cheese over-indulgence at the Cheeseboard Collective. The baked goods are simply the best and the cheese tasting/counter experience is sublime. Drop by any time for a true foody experience (just not on Sunday - when they are closed).

What is not to like about this place? The cheese, and pizza, are incredible. The cheese rolls are one of my favorites foods in the whole wide world. They will make you dance the conga in your pjs. High praise indeed. Their cookies....Hello? The shortbread is slammin', and the ginger cookies are just plain, damn sensational.....and I don't like ginger... More

I love this experience: line out the door...every time (Tells you everything you need to know). Walk up counter, fast service, limited menu: pizza and salad Of The Day. No special orders. Just enjoy what they create. Wine and beer available. And, the cherry on top? Live music. Love it. Most people takeaway but if you want to sit, eat,... More

This is one of those places that that can only exist within a community. It is not a place to go an order your pizza all customized just four you ... it is todays pizza, and you want it yes or no. But, there are usually a few hundred folks who want it, and they're is sometimes a line around... More

This place has them lined up down the street for lunch and dinner. They only make 1 pizza a day used with local fresh ingredients, and is meatless. You can check their website daily to see what the pizza of the day is. You can buy it by the slice, 1/2, or whole. No pizza's on Monday. Their pesto is... More

Ate here with my nephew who highly recommended it. Long line moved quickly and they only serve one choice of pizza each day Live music plays as you wait in line. Seating inside, outside as we'll as take-out. Very reasonably priced Cant wait to return.
