...or the whole Bay Area for that matter. Great food. Great service. No attitude. Very, very special place. One of our favorites.

So close to 5 stars! First I'll start with the cons, so that I can end on a high note. 1. Wait - We had reservations for 7:30 on a saturday evening. We arrived about 5 min early to check in, and had to wait until about 7:45 to be seated. There's not a lot of space so we had... More

My daughter and I had dinner last night before the Berkeley Rep. It was the first time at the restaurant and we will certainly return. I was late and she ordered the house cured salumi meat plate as a starter. Everything was spicy and salty and tasty. Just the way we like it. We both ordered the tagliatelle of braised... More

The food is consistently extraordinary. The service is attentive and the location is perfect if you are attending an event at Zellerbach. The only Italian restaurant that can touch the food is Acquerello at four times the price. Even the side dishes are inspired - try the savory polenta with cheese- it's almost a custard. I just don't understand why... More

Highlights; wine list, polenta, branzino & espresso. All exceptional. Low points; drab uninspired salad, gnocchi meh, price very expensive. Spent $400 dinner for 2. Even with $90 bottle wine was a bit over the top for a meal which was very good but nowhere near worth that kind of price tag. Suggest expense account dinners or some rich uncle paying... More

My husband and I booked this restaurant for a reunion with a friend who we had not seen for a while. From the curb, this is a lovely little venue -- warm and inviting. We were greeted immediately by the host, who led us to a table adjacent to the kitchen, almost in the kitchen, where clacking and clanking dominated.... More

Liked the atmosphere and the wine list is honest and excellent. Food is good enough but could be better - was it the chef's night off? Company we were with said that the food was usually better - so would go back to try, perhaps ask if the dish is fried, that I would avoid again. Ask what is in... More

Well prepared food, house made pasta, reasonable wine list plus cocktails, and friendly service. What's not to like?

Had a great mista salad; dressing was light and ingredients fresh. Tagliatelle was fantastic. Home made pasta and great flavors. Servings not too big but I would always prefer quality over quantity. Nice selection of wines and attentive service.

So tasty, smaller but adequate portions. Nice space, very busy and popular. Very central location. Healthy food. We would return.
