Snagged an early reservation for two couples prior to a concert at the Greek. So. Glad. Great atmosphere, service, food and wine. From the out of this world bruschetta to the lightly seasoned fresh green salad and a totally solid pasta dish (tagliatelle with ragu) this was a great experience. Nice Italian wines by the glass and bottle with a... More

My wife and I stayed in Berkeley for a few days and went for a walk in the restaurant district. I was in the mood for some italian, so we tried Trattoria Corso. There was a 20-25 minutes wait (on a monday!) which we spent in the bar. My wife had a Napa Smith Lost Dog and I had a... More

This place has the potential to be a great restaurant. Nice ambience, very friendly staff, but it misses on a few big points. I ordered one of their fresh pasta dishes that was supposed to be served with some fish. Pasta was excellent, sauce excellent, but there could not be more than one once of fish in the dish. Only... People really like this place but my two experiences, one a few years ago, and one today, were both mixed in quality. It was quieter this time than before and there were fewer tables occupied. The pasta with sugo was basically devoid of tomato taste, rather thick but did not tasty meaty. It was unlike any other I have ever... More

Corso has been one of my favorite Berkeley restaurants since it first opened six years ago. Up to two years ago, I celebrated my birthday there with friends When I went this week with a friend from D.C., because of my travel schedule, I hadn't been back in over a year. We enjoyed ourselves splitting two different appetizers, then following... More

With a small but very well-done menu, Corso covers all the Tuscan highlights e xcept bread soup. Five house-made salumis. Twelve antipasti. Four house-made pastas. Six mains, and four side dishes. We had Caponata (which was truly a nit-to-be-missed version), Giadiniera (tasty but small), Frafale with a wonderful sauce (cooked less than al dente... a little too hard), and a... More

Went to Corso based on my cousin's recommendation. All four of us very much enjoyed our food and will return again. We started with the housemade charcuterie which was very good. We all then had salads of one sort or another which were fresh, simple and flavorful. The best, however, were the entrees. I had the Chicken ala Sostanza (one... More

This restaurant is a must! We'd never been in it before, even though we frequently dine out in Berkeley -- not sure how we missed it, but we won't any more. We sat at a window table, fortunately, because it's very noisy, even with relatively high ceilings. Not sure why, but we'll ask for that area any time we go... More

Great restaurants balance the richness of flavors with subtlety. I've dined at Corso twice within the past 6 weeks and, on both occasions, the food was too heavy handed. The Lattuga salad was sour and salty. The Yukon Gold potatoes were burdened by too much cheese. Such a shame, when all they really need is a bit of butter. And,... More

Warm, clean room with great relaxed vibe. Attentive knowledgeable staff. Bartender and waitstaff delight in helping you discover surprising mixed drinks and wines. Simply delicious food...every dish. Dinned here several times and never disappointed.
