Nice surprise!

A client suggested this restaurant for lunch. Apparently it is one of his favorites. Now, it will be one of mine as well. Location was great - view was amazing - historical background of restaurant building was quite interesting, and the food was great! Our server, Charlie, was very attentive but... read more

Great "old time" American food with some good international flavors as well. This place is a real gem - a historic Japanese pavilion transported from the World's Fair at the turn of the century. Shockingly good view over the redwood shores/Foster city area with the nice lights of the cities. Wait staff that has worked there for decades, not months... More

We have been here a few times and always for a special occasion. The food is amazing, the views are awesome and we love the history behind this restaurant. Plus the service is always impeccable!!!

My wife and I had heard about The Van's from some friends and decided to give it a try. As a comparison, we have been to "The Iron Gate" in Belmont a couple of times, and for my money, they have the best steak anywhere. That is our "special occasion" place. The Iron Gate has a different kind of a... More

High up in the hills of Belmont CA, this restaurant has great views and lots of ambiance. I have had dinner and lunch in this restaurant and decided to celebrate my birthday at The Van's on the Hill. It was spectacular and the food and drinks were great.

This restaurant has been on that hill for a long time and so has the menu. Went there for Mother's Day brunch. Our reservation's were for 10:00 AM. The brunch menu was very limited. It also happened to be my son's birthday. I started to tell the gentleman that was showing us our table but he said I had to... More

Our party of four had a reservation, but waited 30 minutes to be seated. Host not overly friendly has an attitude of “do not care if we have your business" The bar and dining room could use up dating. Extensive menu, food fair, plating is stuck in the ‘70’s. Our server was excellent, however that would not make me revisit... More

This is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. There we're six of us. The service was very good. Everything we ordered was delicious. They have polenta fries, which were really different and good to eat. Their stuffed zucchini was tasty too.

Old Peninsula restaurant, food is very good and they have an interesting menu. Their Burgers are sensational, Good bar. The Host is polite but doesn't seem interested. We have been seated by the hostess without a reservation or having to wait, however he seems to make you wait even if you have a reservation about 15 minutes, then we were... More
