My wife had a doctor's appt.in Downey so we headed to Bellflower to Johnny Reb's for dinner afterwards . I always enjoy their BBQ but I wanted to try something new so I tried the Jambalaya it was pretty good but sure was spicy for a mild manner guy like me. I thought I was going to get 2 sides... More

We had a family dinner for my son's birthday, so JRs was the b-day boy's pick. We sat in the patio, which was quite nice. Drink orders were taken quickly and our water all around was delivered quickly. We ordered dinner and a couple of beers, but when my son asked for rootbeer after the beers came he was ignored.... If you like fried okra this is the place to get it. The fried catfish is perfect. Just like back home in Mississippi. The collard greens are not to be missed. This not the healthiest fare, but it sure makes a good treat when you want some down home cooking.

Johnny Reb's has been in the heart of bellflower for as long as I can remember, way before this current wave of new restaurants. I've been before their own renovations and after. It looks a lot better inside and out after the update. They have a nice beer selection and a cool frozen chalice they serve the draft beers in,... More

Coming from a country that did no BBQ its food due to the rain. I am hence not a fan of it, but their Micro beer selection is fantastic and they serve a mean shrimp cocktail, once in a while they even serve no-smoked breaded Pork chops, which are out of this world. You have just go to try their... More

Love this place the chicken is so juicy and tasty, macaroni and cheese is delicious and the tri-tip and pulled pork is so yummy. We have been living in this area for about a year and when I crave barbecue this where I want to go. The service is great and the restaurant is currently adding a bar that my... More

I was raised on southern cooking and a visit to Johnny Reb's always brings back memories of Sunday dinner at grandmas. Even if you're not a fan of fried catfish and hush puppies, you're sure to find something to your liking. The atmosphere is fun and the wait staff friendly and helpful.

Johnny Reb's has good food and courteous service, but whopper of a price. I went with a friend and we split a hamburger. We each had a soda, nothing else. The bill was $25!! It was probably the best burger I ever had, but I won't pay over ten bucks for half a burger ever again.

LGB-Local Thank you for your continued feedback. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your experience overall, but sorry to hear you felt the price was too high. Our half-pound burgers range between $11.25 and $12.25 and include two side dishes. Again, we do our best to provide the right value. We're glad to hear it was the "best burger you've... More
