This Michelin starred restaurant surprised us with it's lack of pretentiousness coupled with expert unfussy cooking, the sort which can only be achieved by a chef confident of his objectives. Everything we tasted was superb (and the little champagne candle provided to celebrate my husband's birthday was a lovely touch). If you're lucky enough to have these on the menu... More

We came here for a family meal for a special occasion and all agreed it was one of the best meals we'd ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The menu had a good mix of fish and meat dishes with lots of locally sourced ingredients. If you are a vegetarian it might be worth contacting them in... More

We went recently for my husband's birthday. If you're looking for a "posh" restaurant you'll be disappointed, it's a pub. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the owner very bubbly. The food was absolutely delicious and well presented. The wine wasn't overly expensive by the bottle, but 2 glasses of sparkling wine cost us just under £20. However,... More

A splendid evening out with the whole family to celebrate our son's birthday - great food and service (with none of those obsequious maitre d's/waiters/sommeliers that you often find at some Michelin-starred restaurants). A good selection of real ales too!

Me & my Partner visited the butchers arms after being recommended by friends, when we arrived we had a lovely warm welcome by the ladies behind the bar who showed us over to our table looking out to the garden. After looking through the menu me & my partner found it very difficult to choose what to have, with everything... More

The restaurant came very highly recommended, and lived up to the recommendations. The Pub façade and interior décor are very dated, and certainly do not prepare you for the quality of food and service you receive. Ideal for romantic occasions

Service and establishment good. It can get busy and noisy though. Food is prepared from good quality ingredients and is well cooked. Portions are small (1 scallop starter was tiny), so expect to have 3 courses. We all had different dishes, all were good meals. That said there is little to recommend the food as exceptional, the flavours just don't... More

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with the family and as always the food served was of a high standard. There's always a warm, happy welcome from Elizabeth, good service and delicious food. would appreciate the odd cushion to sit on the bench seats, but otherwise perfect

For a restaurant purporting to have a 1* rating this was a great disappointment. The peripherals were bad - from having to walk past an open kitchen window walking from the car park - to having children's paintings on the door - to non-existent linen napery. And the food was very expensive for what we found to be quite ordinary.... More

We have visited the butchers on three occasions, the food is absolutely incredible. It is a little pricey, but well worth it for a special meal out. Friendly staff and lovely location
