Our 16th Century Public House is situated on Lime Street within the Parish of Eldersfield. The Butchers Arms is first and foremost a rural pub, where the bar is the hub of life, with low ceilings, wooden floors, roaring log fires and real ale served straight from the cask. Our small seasonal menu is a huge feature of the pub for which we are immensely proud to have been award a Michelin Star for.To make your reservation or any questions we can help with just call us.

Truly exceptional food in a friendly environment

This place was recommended to us by our B&B hosts, and we're so glad we took their advice. The most sublime food (well deserving of its Michelin star), without any of the "faine-daining" pretensions that spoil the atmosphere in some restaurants. This place was recommended to us by our B&B hosts, and we're so glad we took their advice. The most sublime food (well deserving of its Michelin star), without any of the "faine-daining" pretensions that spoil the atmosphere in some restaurants. We loved the fact that it feels like a village pub, albeit a subtly stylish one. The service was... More

lovely evening with friends who recommended this lovely country pub. it retains a locals-having-a-pint feel and yet serves really top standard food that is miles beyond the norm. Not cheap but worth every penny as you can see and more importantly taste the care and attention and skill that has gone into the cooking. Highly recommended just hope that I... More

I went there last Saturday with my husband, brother and his girl friend. I had the crab for starter which was really good. Followed by the hake and lobster ravioli which again was very tasty. I had the rosewater meringue with rhubarb jelly. The meringue was great but the jelly was ok. Others had pigs cheek and crab to start,... More

I was a bit torn about writing a review, I want to keep this wonderful place to myself! Having been a couple of times (with many more to come I have to say) it never ceases to impress. From the second you walk through the door there's a very warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere. The food is out of... More

It was our first visit to Eldersfield and we looked at the beautiful church first. We all fell in love with the beautiful village. We had lunch at ‘The Butcher’s Arms’. The menu was amazing. My daughter and I had ‘Pan fried seabass with potato salad and fried chorines’, followed by ‘Pistachio & blood orange macaroons with pistachio ice cream... More

This was our first visit to a Michellin Star restaurant and we liked the informal, country setting and the food was by far above the standard we expected. It was fantastic and good value for money with friendly and welcoming staff. Would most definately recomment a visit

Six of us all thoroughly enjoyed 3 fabulous courses each for lunch last Sat. There was absolutely nothing for us to complain about so we all had a very enjoyable and delicious lunch with some outstanding dishes The bread, as reported by many, is absolutely to die for, we just had to have seconds :~) The service was friendly and... We recently enjoyed a delicious meal by the log burner in this delightful pub. It has a small intimate feel with low beams and original flooring. The service was efficient and friendly and the food WOW! We had the turbot and shared the cheese plate, one of the best meals I've eaten anywhere for a long time. We'll be back.

First visit here but definetely not the last. Between us, my husband and I sampled several dishes and thought them outstanding. The chef here is very talented and I would love to have tried everything on the menu as they all sounded delicious so have booked to come again! A great little dining pub, well worth seeking out, the whole... More

It is with some trepidation that i write this review as it is getting ever harder to get a reservation due to popularity; however in the spirit of identifying a top culinary experience for the benefit of all has won out. This is a small country pub, that still functions as a community assett, but also serves quite amazing food,... More
