The pub itself is small and intimate. The service is excellent, friendly and efficient without being stuffy or oppressive. Great husband and wife team. The food is to die for!!! I have been going since they moved into the place around 2007, I have never had a meal that has been less than excellent. It's maybe not the best place... More

When visiting friends in Gloucestershire we always ask if we can go to the Butchers Arms. This wonderful old pub serves fabulous food. The experience is heighened by the delightful service from Elizabeth the joint proprietor who looks after the front of house while her husband cooks. The food never fails to delight and I always have the marmalade pudding... More

Just returned from the Butchers. Our first and certainly not our last visit! Can't fault this place in anyway. One of the best lunches I have tasted, beautifully presented, well seasoned imaginative menu using locally sourced produce. This guy knows how to cook and his wife manages the front of house with great style and professionalism. Worth every penny!

We were taken here by our friends for Birthday treat, lovely evening, good food, good wine, not blown away, we are lucky to have so many excellent restaurants in area who are on a par, Inn at Welland Horse and Jockey, Amuse Bouche where it feels more special. It's very much a pub with fine dining.

The food here is outstanding, very clean flavours and choice ingredients, James is a very talented chef and produces superb dishes all with a small and dedicated team. All the front of house team is very friendly, good fun and above all efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed by all 4 of us, all our dishes were raved over. A big thank you... More

I was staying at a local farm and had hoped to seek out a local pub for a pint after a good walk. The Butchers Arms was a very pleasant find. A pub that achieved the sadly rare feat of being a well loved local pub in a historic building on the one hand and a highly regarded restaurant on... More
