Our 16th Century Public House is situated on Lime Street within the Parish of Eldersfield. The Butchers Arms is first and foremost a rural pub, where the bar is the hub of life, with low ceilings, wooden floors, roaring log fires and real ale served straight from the cask. Our small seasonal menu is a huge feature of the pub for which we are immensely proud to have been award a Michelin Star for.To make your reservation or any questions we can help with just call us.

A wolf in sheeps clothing!

Don't be fooled by the simplistic decor as you enter the Butchers Arms. It is pure mastery that lulls you into the belief that you are in " The Village Pub". Complete with scrubbed top tables and fairly stark furnishings it appears very unmitchelin like at first. Before you have chance to wonder... read more

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday meal and it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic, the best meal out for a very long time. Would highly recommend any fish dish. The atmosphere was great, very relaxed but attentive staff. I would definitely make a trip here again!

Went for Sunday lunch for a family birthday . Sat by the wood burner on the coldest day of the year so far, which was lovely & cosy . Food is excellent with plenty of choice , the staff very friendly & accommodating & the venue warm & traditional . The reason I've given a four star instead of a... More

I'd heard from a few people that this was good so visited on Saturday night with my youngest son who was spending the weekend with me. When we arrived I realised I'd been before - over 30 years ago when it was a locals pub called The Greyhound! Atmosphere on arrival was spot on, very warm and welcoming and great... More

We went last Sunday for lunch at The Butchers Arms with two friends - a thoroughly delightful and delicious experience! The pub has a traditional setting, we were sat by the wood burner on a cold, wet day - glorious! … a good old fashioned feel to it … but the food is anything but old fashioned. A menu with... More

Having positively reviewed this restaurant approx 12 months ago I just wanted to recognise the fact that they make such a huge effort to maintain exceptionally high standards. A lot of restaurants stick to the dishes that are their tried and tested winners but the Butchers Arms continues to tweak and change the dishes On the latest visit I had... More

My wife and I were accompanied by 2 friends with their 10 year old daughter for dinner. We enjoyed a warm welcome openly extended to the junior of our party attentive service without being overbearing and great food in a comfortable and relaxing environment. The dishes were hugely enjoyable and the wine list included some fun. Good value too. We... More

the food here is very very good, as you would expect given the Michelin star. However, the restaurant is unwelcoming, cold, drafty and uncomfortable - complete with outside toilets. We were seated in an unheated room, on hard chairs, and in the middle of a "runway" between the bar and restaurant. We asked to be moved, but this was not... More

Great food and portion size, lovely staff, only thing was the lack of choices when it came to ales. Apart from that, great

Four of us went out for dinner and having just moved to the area I was keen to try the pub. All I can say is that the food was outstanding and as my husband said he hasn't eaten food as good as that since he went to Royal hospital road (ramsays). I had the squid to start and the... More
