The food was fantastic and the service very friendly. You are very close to other diners and the layout does feel rather cramped but if you love your food this shouldn't put you off as everything was first class.

We arrived at lunchtime today without a booking and were warmly welcomed by Jade who went out of her way to help when we were really fussy about the choices on today's menu. How could we have known that Mike, the most fabulous chef in the world, was tucked away in a tiny kitchen in the middle of nowhere and... More

My boyfriend and I recently visited The Whitehouse Restaurant following advice from the owners of Mingarry Park Guest House. This restaurant was approximately one hour drive away from where we were staying so it was rather out of our way. As we were unsure of its location we contacted the restaurant directly and staff were very helpful when providing directions... More

A fairly small restaurant and tremendously popular in summer, so best to book ahead, even midweek. Locally sourced produce adds interest to a varied menu. Skillful cooking and friendly (though amateurish) service; eclectic and varied wine list. Reasonable value, even at night.

2nd time in the Whitehouse - we'd had a great lunch c 18mths ago. This time was dinner last Saturday, just fantastic food and a cosy atmosphere with accommodating, good natured staff. The seafood was quite outstanding - especially the cod and crab claws. Best food I've had on the West Coast.

We were delayed at the Corran Ferry and arrived in Lochaline to find that the ferry had just left for Fishnish and there was an hour and a half to the next one... We didn't fancy the snack stop and noticed the sign for the Whitehouse Restaurant. So we wandered back up the hill for a look. We were the... More

A small but very good restaurant. The food is of eccellent quality and the service is great. Local seafood, meat and venison, fresh home grown veg garantee a really good meal! The atmosphere is intimate even if the dining space is small it has been well thought out. Really Worth a dinner!

For the last two years in May we have taken the ferry across from Fishnish on Mull to Lochaline for lunch at The Whitehouse, and it has been the highlight of our holiday. The food has each time absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, and very memorable. We are looking forward to returning next week. Highly recommended.

We sailed from Dunbeg to Lochaline and moored there the night specifically so we could visit the White House. It was amazing; the setting is stunning and the food is out of this world - think Local Hero meets Noma. I had the snout to tush black pudding which was extraordinarily good. We were made to feel extremely welcome. Everything... More

I visited the Whitehouse from Mull via a short ferry trip (15 minutes). Every dish was superb, with an interesting variety of choices, mouth-watering flavours, and appetising presentation. The setting is beautiful, the restaurant snug, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I will go out of my way to return, and would recommend the Whitehouse most warmly.
