Amazing food and ambiance. The staff are friendly, kind and passionate about providing a quality dining experience. The food is always prepared with excellence and incredibly tasty. This is a unique dining experience in Bakerafield and great for a romantic dinner or private business affair. The menu reflects the seasons and the availability of "farm to table" ingredients. A must... More

Three of us were on a business trip in Bakersfield. Happy we found valentiens. Pate plate starter was well seasoned, and presented well. Salads were imaginative, fresh and had wonderful flavors (the warm lamb, wilted spinach with onion dressing was very tasty). Had a mushroom pasta dish that was spectacular. Wines - we tried local regional producers - were enjoyable.... More

Gourmet food in a relaxing atmosphere. The breast of duck was one of the best I've had. The salads are terrific. I had the roasted stone fruit salad and my husband really enjoyed the watermelon salad. You won't be disappointed.

We visited here last weekend. The location is in a little strip mall on a good corner but seems to be very quiet. I made reservations online several days in advance for a Saturday night at 7:30. When we arrived there were perhaps 4 other couples and a party of 4. The place is definitely not big...perhaps a dozen tables?... More

"Fine food in Bakersfield" is not an oxymoron. After a succeesful week of meetings, myself and two colleagues ventured out to Valentien for our final dinner. I wish I'd found this place on previous visits to BFL. The restaurant is hidden away in a small alcove at the NW corner of Oak and Truxton, but you have to park in... More

This restuarant puts to shame places like Maxwell's and The Padre. Incredible food. Always, everytime. Service has always been awesome. The problem with the other two restuarants is that it's always hit and miss on both service and food. Valentien is the place to go. Possibly the best filet mignon in town. Their soup of the day is always a... More

Food quality is good...though some of the dishes are on the salty side (as other patrons have commented). My two biggest complaints are the portion size and seating. When you divide the price to the portion size, it comes out to be quite expensive. The other complaints are the chairs. For such a nice restaurants, the chair are downright miserable.... More

The food at Valentien's far outshines anything else available in Bakersfield. I wish the setting was a little nicer to match the excelletn food, but this is still Bakersfield. Every time I come here I am treated to something delightful and often new. If you have discriminating taste buds and aren't out for the heavy plate stuffed with meat, this... More

This is my second visit to this place and it has not improved. So the owners seemed to have gone outside of Bakersfield and gotten some culinary skills / ideas and then came back to this black hole then tried to introduce a little to it. The problem is they forgot how to treat customers and that its BAKERSFIELD and... More
