I found it difficult to find something on the menu for lunch. The menu layout was not what I would call traditional "American" but seemed more like what I saw in Italy. I settled for the special, an Italian dip sandwich. It was good, nothing special to me. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. Parking seems to... More

Great place. Get in early they get busy quick. Or call ahead. Great place to have lunch. It stop and get items in the deli. To cook for dinner. Or maybe get some amazing cheese and wine. Big selection

Only serves lunch. Sandwiches and pasta. Lots of pictures from local schools sports. Can order off menu with special for each day of the week. Thursdays beef dip is off the charts. Great store connected next door.

The food is great from the pasta to the tri-tip (the establishment was closed to the public since we were there for a a private dinner, but it would be worth the wait if going there for lunch). A stroll down memory lane with the walls of local sports pictures and small gift shop next door if you are looking... More

The only negative about Luigi's is the wait if you get there on a Saturday. NO ONE does it better. Of course with 100 years of practice, what should you expect. Lunch only, a great bar, a history that I could talk about a books worth, and an Italian family heritage that you'd expect to find only in Boston or... More

I've been to Luigi's twice to meet a friend for lunch - She thinks it's a great place to eat and I think it's disgusting. Yes, Luigi's is a Bakersfield institution, but the pasta is a pile of white mush, the bread is a white rock, and the beans have no flavor.

Luigi's is a family owned restaurant who has been in business for many years. They are only open for lunch which can sometimes be disappointing but they do a huge business on a daily basis. You can book the restaurant for special occasions, which my family has done a few times, in the evening if you meet the criteria. Luigi's... More

I have twice been to Luigi's for parties (one retirement party and one reunion) and we have been impressed both times. The restaurant is a in a now hardened area of town, but the restaurant has endured the ages and is always great. The locals in town know the history and significance of the deli and are frequent diners for... More

During a family visit from Alabama I had a great lunch experience while in town! Luigi's is the place to be for lunch. We started with an appetizer named "Marrow". It was served with an 8" long bone that had been cut in half lengthwise to expose the marrow, boiled into a delicious broth with a few veggies and served... More

Went in for lunch on a Friday. Place was packed at 11:30 and we weren't seated until 12:10. No reservation can be a problem. We say out back and of course the food and staff were great, but for the price... Authentic Italian shouldn't be a problem to get, even in Bakersfield.
