I always hit this restaurant when I'm in Bako. And it takes careful planning because it's a town favorite but only open for lunch five days a week:Tuesday - Saturday. The Delicatessen is open civil hours, however 8.00 - 16.00 and it's fun to browse through. So the call goes out to family and friends. Meet us at Luigi's! We... More

2nd time here and haven't been impressed yet. This time I had the Luigi Sandwich, the roll was really nice and soft but the stuffing in the sandwich was just OK. Different Italian meats but nothing flavorful. For the price it should come with chips or something. My husband had the special Clam Linguini, looked like a good amount of... More

Our family had the chance to have lunch at Luigi's in Bakersfield yesterday and it was a pleasant surprise! Their pastrami sandwich is one of the best that I have had ever in this area. I came on a great roll and had a hint of rosemary and the flavor just burst from the sandwich.

After living I'm Kern County for 18 years and recently moving away, this is one must-have meal when I return to visit. All their entrees are solid in taste, quality, and portion. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Be warned though it gets crowded cause its THAT good.

Luigi's is a hangout for all the movers and shakers. I don't know why or how it became the "it" place. I've been to a few business lunches here. It's not my favorite - I'm not a big fan of the food nor the cramped quarters. People get quite rude and pushy during the lunch rush. Also, it's not exactly... More

Who would've expect to have a great Italian meal in Bakersfield? Can't go wrong with any meals on their menu. Great interiors, lots of pictures on the wall, very homey. Outside patio seating in the back is lovely too! Servers were always nice & pleasant. Get there early before the lunch crowd.

Luigi's is an old-school Bakersfield joint that my dad used to frequent back in the '50s. The owners are still the same folks. It is strictly a lunch place, and it is not open on Sundays. Saturdays are mad busy, so get there early. Also, if they have ribs, they will run out if you wait too long! However, I... More

Luigi's is one of Bakersfield's treasures. Get there early to get a table, it's always packed. The food is great and the atmosphere festive. It's a favorite with the locals.

1) Get there early - parking is crazy! 2) The restaurant gets crowded quickly! Only open for LUNCH! Typical Italian food -- The special is the 1/2 and 1/2 - half Luigi's beans and 1/2 pasta, comes with choice of roll and very small antipasto. Monica's salad is good too. Daily specials. Very friendly staff and service. Sit at the... More

I found it difficult to find something on the menu for lunch. The menu layout was not what I would call traditional "American" but seemed more like what I saw in Italy. I settled for the special, an Italian dip sandwich. It was good, nothing special to me. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. Parking seems to... More
