The chile verde is the best in Ca. It is a must try- the staff is very friendly and I believe it is family owned.

Old Kern, or the international village, of East Bakersfield is an experience, with Wool Growers, Luigi's, and the Pyrenees, it's worth dodging the occasional dumpster diver to step back in time. The Arizona Cafe is a classic Mexican cafe not to be mistaken for the million taco joints...the Soupa de Pollo is ambrosia if you enjoy classic Mexican, and the... More

I had the worst food at Arizona Cafe, a tamale that had to be old, it was so dried up and tasteless, and chili verde that was too spicy to eat. Burrito was tiny and expensive. You have to get past the homeless crack addicts to get into this place. I called and complained and the manager said she would... More

I'm always looking for good or even great Chile Verde and Arizona Cafe never lets me down. It is in the older part of Bakersfield which just adds to the fun of going to an authentic Mexican cafe.

Great authentic mexican food, fresh made hot tortillas, great salsa. This place is burried tresure. I never would have found this place just driving by alone. Thanks for a friend, I will be back again soon!

My husband and I have been coming to the infamous Arizona Cafe for the past 30 years. We grew up with the chili verde and cheese enchiladas. The chile rellanos are excellent! We eat there at least once a week, mostly on Sundays after church. The staff are very friendly and attendtive to your needs. i would highly recommend Arizona... More

The glowing reviews must have been written by the owners family. Ordered the chili verde. More bones than meat and what meat there was was beyong tough and stringy...almost too tough to chew through. Chili verde should be tender and flavorful, this wasn't even close. My son had the chili verde burrito. This kid inhales burritos... He took about two... More

Made with pork ribs, bone and all..... simply awesome. The atmosphere is right out of 1953. certainly not your cookie cutter chain fare... Great family owned restaurant,

This place has the best Chile verde in Kern county. Everything is delicious including the enchiladas and the cheesiest chile rellenos. A+ food

This is a favorite in my family... go for the chili verde or carne asada... yum. good service, great prices, and old-fashioned decor, cafe style... Try it, good stuff! It is in an older, and not so fancy part of town, but don't let that deter you.
