We have been here several times within the one year that we have been living in Bakersfield now. We loved the food every single time. Actually, it keeps getting better and better. My favorite so far are the Huevos con Chorizo. Yum!

Old fashion americano mexican. Flat taste. Nothing changes. Old and crappy. Not worth the money. People who like this place will talk about the drinks, like in booze. If your drunk, get in a Taxi, go there and met up with other drunks, and becuase your drunk and can't taste the food, you should be fine. I like taco bell... More

Excellent food, some of the best Mexican we've enjoyed anywhere. Salsa was not great, but quite acceptable nonetheless. Service was excellent, and enjoyable atmosphere all around.

We love Mexicalli! I've been eating here since I was a young child. It is a family run establishment and set in deep tradition. The food is consistent, the service awesome, and the margaritas are phenomenal. They always know where we prefer to sit (depending on which restaurant we are at), they remember our drinks and our favorite meals. We... More

Mexicali West is a local favorite - great location (Stockdale and California). Their bar is pretty famous - and they make a good Marguerita. You will find all the traditional Mexican favorites - plus they offer Sunday brunch. My recommendations are Chile Colorado (best I ever had anywhere), Vegetable Fajitas, or any of the daily specials. You can also order... More

I was in town for business and this restaurant was literally a block away. The place looked nice and seemed to be busy. The wait staff were good, I did not have to wait long for a seat or for my food. Food seemed to be average to me not terrible not great. The Margaritas were not watered down. All... More

Mexicali is two generations of recipes tested by Bakersfield gringos and amigos. The staff dress and act like Mamacita is in the kitchen; same with the bar; the customers are treated like neighbors and frequently they are. The food is basic mexican menu with quality and a flair (hot, thick plates, generous portions). Simply said, "The Mexicali will not leave... More

This restaurant is within walking distance of the Bakersfield Marriott Hotel at the Convention Center. We arrived around 8pm on a Friday evening and were seated immediately. The server quickly brought out our drinks and some chips and salsa. The chips were very fresh and not greasy. I ordered two enchiladas (one cheese & one chicken) with rice. My dinner... More
