Bakersfield is blessed with a great many good Basque restaurants and Noriega's is one of the oldest and one of the best. All means served family style in the Basque tradition. An older restaurant but still serving great Basque food.

Been in Bakersfield for some years so is well known. Food is ok, nothing special. Needs a good remodel! Service is ok and friendly most of the time.

During my annual visit to Bakersfield, we always make a family trip to Noriega's. This time it was full with all three tables occupied. The food, served family style, is always wonderful and plentiful. When seated, the soup, salad, beans, salsa, Pyrnees sourdough bread is waiting. If you have ever had Basque food, the you know there is no such thing as bad Basque food. Served family style at long tables at set times of the day, do yourself a favor and go. Hand the cashier a $20 bill on the way out, which covers 7 courses plus wine. Wow.....

We make it a point to eat at Noriega's whenever we're anywhere in the vicinity of Bakersfield. The food continues to be amazing and reasonably priced. Noriega's is a wonderful bit of Basque tradition in the San Joaquin Valley.
