Long a casual and cozy cafe for delicious omelettes, steaks and great atmosphere, service and conversation, my wife, Marys, birthday week-end was most enjoyable @ this great restaurant!!! Our son from San Luis Obispo and his wife joined us (and later paid for our meals, too!) for an excellent Sunday morning breakfast and gifts opening! Whether it was my ham... More

The food was good, but the service was bad! It took forever to get our food, and when we got the food it was cold. The waitress was hesitant to take the food back to be reheated because it was "just made". When the food was brought back, it was much better.

We had a chance to take our son and family to Village Grill today for a lunch, and they were delighted, as Holland does not have such delicious food. We all enjoyed various dishes, from steak sandwiches to strawberry waffles, and a delicious lunch salad was also enjoyed by one visitor. We take our visitors here always, because we know... More

My daughter took me to lunch on Tuesday and wanted me to try this place. They are only opened for breakfast and lunch. We got there about 1:30pm which was good since there were not very busy. Parking is in the back and as you walk in to a beautiful patio seating area. It is well shaded, but we decided... More

We had lunch at The Village Grill and enjoyed it so much that we returned the next morning for breakfast. The patio is beautiful and very comfortable. Both breakfast and lunch were delicious. The food tasted fresh, well prepared, and the servings very generous. The service was a little slow but the menu explains that everything is fresh and there... More

I went there for lunch with my friend. Never been there before. It was great!!! Great food. Great place. Friendly place with friendly people. Can't wait to go back to try breakfast. But next time I'm going to sit outside. I paid 10 dollars for a salad but only could eat half. It was huge. So made lunch then take... More

One of the few places in Bakersfield with pleasant outside seating. With fantastic huevos rancheros, Village Grill is always a good choice for nice weekend mornings.

Went here after the Color Run in Bakersfield and the service was "OK" but the food was not. Besides waiting forever for our food when we did get it most of the meals were cool. My husband had the seafood omelet, which arrived luke warm, so he sent it back so it could get heated back up. Once returned it... More

A little tucked away coffee shop type restaurant. The food was prepared very fresh and everything we had was delicious. Staff was attentive and friendly. Most lunch items were $10. Fair prices for the quality of food.

My wife and I were looking for a place to have breakfast. She told me that she had read that Village Grill was picked as one of the best breakfast's in Bakersfield so we decided to try it. Nice place but our breakfast wasn't up to the hype. My wife ordered blueberry pancakes with eggs. When her breakfast arrived the... More
