I met a business client here at his suggestion as it was close to the oil field that we had to visit. As I approached on Norris Rd. at 06.15, I was dismayed at the number of vehicles in the parking lot. The cafe looked small, so I was prepared to arm wrestle someone for a table. But on entering,... Arriving on a weekday at 11:30 and thinking we would beat the noon rush, we found the place was nearly packed. The owners, Carla & Ronnie Cope have the business of mostly locals, but are expanding their customer base as the word gets out. In fact, they are planning a building expansion soon. There was counter seating, but we opted... More

It's conveniently located near the freeway. I grabbed some breakfast before heading out of town but they have excellent biscuits and gravy.

Found this by checking reviews on Trip Advisor and I have to say they were pretty accurate. The food is great, you may have to wait, and the portions are huge. Try a skillet breakfast, the biscuits are insane! Would love to come back if in the area again. Not pricey at all.

Best pastrami sandwich in CA. Prepare to wait at lunch, it's always packed from about 11:30 to after 1 But, it's worth the wait.

We were passing thru town on the way to Sequoia. The atmosphere and service was great. The food is yummy and homemade. The portion was nice sized. My kids loved the biscuit and gravy. We would definitely go back again!

We enjoyed our lunches both times that we have been here. It is busy but worth the wait. You get lots of fresh food for a great price.

My mother was one of the original waitresses at this place in the early forties. She talked about it a lot over the years and loved working there. My daughter and I went there just to experience it and had a wonderful breakfast. Don't go unless you are really hungry. The place was full and had a long wait line... More

We stayed in Bakersfield 4 nights and ate at 3 different breakfast places. We liked this the best for atmosphere, food selection, quality and price. Had a Groupon for it, but would not have been expensive anyway. Try the pancakes.
