The good- service was great, we made reservations and didn't wait, water was never empty for long ect. The bad- prices are high (we had tempanyaki so i expect this) menu stated kids meal came with salad and soup, she was only served soup- menu stated our meal included ice cream (we were told we could buy fried ice cream... Went there for lunch and had both the Teppan and Sushi. This review is mixed. The Teppan was absolutely below average even for Bakersfield Standards. The fried rice was salty and the vegetables were few and overcooked. The sauces you get to dip your meat and vegetables were less tasty than at ShoGun. The sushi was surprisingly OK, although a... There are a few options in Bakersfield for teppanyaki dining, but this one by far is the best. The food is of good quality and it is fresh. If you are going for the show you will be disappointed because no matter where you go they are the same. There are only so many tricks you can do with food.... More

The rolls are very good. The wasabi is very fresh and tasty. We even got an order of Tako Sunomono which was excellent.

Went to try Tokyo Garden to try their sushi which was at best average. The price was OK for sushi but prefer Izumo which is in the same neighborhood for a better price. Decor was dark and the restaurant loud. There are some Teppan tables - might try that next time but was not impressed with sushi - seems to... More

Before we left Bakersfield in the summer of 2008 it was not uncommon for us to eat here 1 or 2 times a week!! We got hooked on their lunch menu! The 2 of us could eat for $20 and have a fantastic meal! The dinner's are also amazing! Either by menu or having tepanyaki, the food is wonderful! If... More

If you like Tappanoci (ok, I can't spell) this is the place to go. Many locals consider it to be the best in town.

Yes, they were special rolls at Tokyo Gardens. On this trip we shared the Yellow Submarine, Tiger's Tail roll and the Crunch Roll. All three were great! My favorite was the Yellow Submarine, my husbands was Tiger's Tail. The Crunch Roll had a nice kick to it too. Would be happy to go back again and again.

This is dinner and a show!!! The table cooking is delicious and fun!! We have tried the shrimp, chicken, filet mignonette, and the new York steak. All very good!! The fried rice is excellent but you can also get steamed rice. The salad comes with dressing...I'm not a fan of it but the rest of my family is. The soup... More

I was honestly very suprised to find great food in Bakersfield as I have had nothing but bad experiences and well Bakersfield is NOT known for their amazing cuisine. First of all what everyone says about the decor is right it is WAY overdone. It is like you stepped into a 70's era Kung Fu movie. Also it should be... More
