Hush puppies, catfish, and a plane.

You must eat here at least once, if you have the opportunity. We ate the buffet and it was good (catfish, fried shrimp, hush puppies, potatoes, and salad bar). If you are like me, you will need to take an antacid before going. They also had about three cakes that were all excellent. You can eat... read more

As a former pilot living in Central Arkansas, I had heard about the Parachute Inn at the Walnut Ridge Airport for years. The Parachute Inn has been at the airport for at least 20 years. Some years ago the owner purchased the fuselage of an out of date Southwest 737 jetliner and attached it to the restaurant. Diners can choose... More

Beware if you are just passing through or out of the area and 'think' you are going to get to eat in the plane. We got there on a Friday at around lunch only to be told when we walked in that the entire plane was 'reserved' that day but we could be seated in the greasy spoon area of... More

Great place! My boy had a blast Playing in the cockpit and sitting on a real plane to eat! Great food as Well. You can order from the menu (mostly burgers and such) or eat from the Buffett. Best catfish I have had in a while! Service fast and friendly

The owner of this restaurant is so sweet and friendly! I was in walnut ridge last week and was running late for lunch. I called at 1:40 and they close at 2 but told me to come on out and they would be happy to have me. A young man waited on me--polite and helpful and they had catfish buffet... More

This is a local restaurant, with good food and a country lunch buffet. Our grandkids loved the airplane. Yes, attached to the restaurant is an actual airplane. You can climb up the steps and they've faced the seats to accomidate regular tables. Note, the restaurant will handle a wheelchair, but you do have to climb steps to get in the... More

The Parachute Inn has taken a retired Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 and converted it into a dining room. Diners of all ages can sit in the cockpit and play with the controls. What a BLAST! After you are done reliving your dreams of being a pilot in the cockpit, you can be seated up to six across in the converted... More
