We go there every time we go to Cajamarca. The food is more expensive than other restaurants, but the caldo de Gallina is quite good. If you go early enough, you can get great pan serrano (mountain bread) to go with el caldo.

Founded by a cook who worked in traditional Salas restaurant, today is a good option to eat! have a juice and connect to Internet. OK prices and service.

We went in, I sat on a wet chair. The ambiance is 1960s industrial communist food, steamy, big vats of soup and stew and dingy old tables. The menu is peruvian, we looked at it, didnt like the vibe, our kids hated all the choices and we left. it is cheap though.

If you think that whistling for your waiter is inappropriate then quite simply, don't go! It gets busy with the local crowd because the food is good enough and its cheap. they have wifi and the beers are cold. The ambiance is relaxed in a Peruvian way. If you hang at local places normally then you will like this, if... More

Went there at lunch time (2 people). Place was full but we could manage to get a table. We asked for the green soup (traditional Cajamarca 's cuisine) to start with. Soup was very watery and the taste of parsley (one of the ingredients) overpowered the rest. This soup could be improved. Then we went with roasted pork, too greasy,... More

El Zarco has good local cuisine at a reasonable price. It seems to be full every day for lunch.

Just don't go there! It is always really busy but we think that is simply because it in the centre of town. Nasty, nasty food!

This restaurant is always packed full with locals: a good sign. The food menu is extensive and reasonably priced, the food itself is heavy local cooking and tends to be a bit on the greasy side (don't bother ordering the french fries) The dishes are bit of a hit and miss: the Churrasco was very tough and not much taste....
