We went to have dinner at el Farallon because some friends recommended it. We had a great meal. Everything we ate was very tasty. We started with some marlin tacos and the sealed tuna ceviche. Then our main course was the Mesquite Salmon and the almond shrimp with Thai sauce. And for dessert don't miss the banana pie. Highly recommendable... More

So the restaurant is tastefully decorated and the food was very good. The choice of music was a little strange considering the setting - US pop music from various eras - thought they'd be piping smooth jazz? Anyway, 2 drinks and an entree and apetizer cost me (solo traveller) about 450 pesos (incl tip.). To be fair, it was ~25%... More

Our meals at the restaurant were disappointing. The only worthwhile dish was the callo de hacha, fresh but not thoroughly thawed. The yellowfin "caguama" style had a freezer taste, the chipotle fish fillet was good and piquant, but salty, the garlic octopus, pulpo al ajillo, was the second best dish, finally the tuna "carnitas" were more like overfried KFC chicken... We decided to got to the restaurant recommend by Lonely Planet, TripAdvisor and Chow. It was called Restaurante El Farallon (Av. Alvaro Obregon #499, Col. Centro, Los Mochis). We were disappointed. Nothing was bad but the place but the food was only okay. The music was too loud and the place was too dark. We ordered 7 oysters that were... More

The folks at the Best Western suggested this restaurant when I said that I wanted to eat food typical of the region. I think they were badly wrong. The menu seemed to be dominated by various sushi rolls. No sashimi or seafood slices on a layer of glutinous rice however. Anyway, we repeated our request to our waiter at el... More

Really fresh products, they even offer sushi (well, a mexican-american version)... try the pescado zarandeado, all the shrimp dishes, the octopus... all of it is really good! There's a lot of different dishes and combinations you should give them a try no matter how weird they sound, you're in for a real treat!!

We run small group bird watching tours throughot Mexico and enjoy treating our clients to the best accomodations and food available. We always end our Copper Canyon trips at El Farallon in Los Mochis, it consistently provides excellent food and service along with a great dining environment! We love El Farallon!

Delicious fresh fish, good service -- definitely worth a visit! Note that you should leave room for dessert: the flan is phenomenal... Rich and caramelly, a top Mexican treat!
