A cosy and friendly place to spend an evening

The menu is small and you can make it a tapas approach if you like. There was a good little wine selection and a well stocked bar. I opted for one tapas as a starter and then went on to the single main offering which turned out to be be the best beer battered haddock I have ever tasted. The... read more

All three of us agreed that it was one of the best experiences of Pub food that we have ever experienced. In fact its far better than most restaurants. We were there out of season but the bar and dining was still busy. We chose completely different meals from the menu but they all arrived promptly and at the same... More

My partner and I decided to go for lunch here this afternoon with his sister and her fiancee, we were shown our table which we had booked and our drinks order taken. Our drinks arrived minus the jug of water, which we sadly asked for 3 times before it eventually arrived (and with only 3 glasses!) During this time, one... More

Excellent food, local charm, and extremely cozy! We would certainly return for another meal. I loved my Pot Pie.

Turned up on Saturday night January 3rd at 8.04 pm with wife and daughter for a farewell meal - I live near Lochinver in the Winter and they were off back south the next morning. The website and the notice in the window advertise Curry Night on Saturday from 6-9 pm. We were told the kitchen had closed at eight... More

The fish and chips were lovely. The local people were very friendly, esp the lady who owns the gallery and she loved our dog Ted!

Stopped in here for a drink while staying at a lodge nearby. Planned to just have one drink but ended up spending most of the afternoon there. Very homely and cosy feel, a few locals came in with their dogs and the barman lit the open fire for us to stay warm. Staff were chatty and indulged our many questions... More

Being a bar and a restaurant, you get two kinds of customers. Therefore, the service needs a good organisation - like distributed responsibilities. This is lacking at the "new" Caberfeidh. The new food concept - small and big plates - is really nice. So I tried a few things I wouldn't have tried otherwise.

We popped into the Caberfeigh while waiting for the weather to clear and head out on our canoe..... 3 hours later we were ordering a few of the small plates for our dinner! Each dish is limited according to what was available, and we tried about 5 of 7 dishes on that day. The fish dishes were very fresh and... More

Recommended by my B&B to come here, and well worth it. Excellent fish and chips and tasty dessert. Waitresses (= bar staff!) very friendly and welcoming.
