Very odd experience. First the positives. The staff were very friendly, the location is wonderful, overlooking the bay, the food was delicious and the restaurant had a very warm and welcoming feel. However, for a number of reasons it could have been much better. We were asked for our drinks order on arrival, and the waitress forgot one of the... More

The problem we had here is that there was no obvious advertising saying it was trying to do tapas. So, we were presented wi an option of about five small dishes, or fish and chips. We were told it was 'kinda tapas' but tapas would usually have much more choice, as well as having choice for those who want a... More

Ok first off the small plates which staff say are Scottish tapas are actually starters so recommend you order a selection and side order of chips. The Ullapool salmon is delicious as are the scallops we had a portion of chips which were absolutely wonderful wish we ordered two portions instead of sharing one. I feel the food here is... More

Great food and great service (from the lovely Kerry), I had 3 different small plates, each of them were fantastic, perfectly cooked fish and seafood. If you are ever in the Lochinver area you must try here.

The beer garden at The Caberfeidh offers a stunning loch view and we were very fortunate to be there on a lovely sunny August day. We both chose the pan-fried scallops with black pudding. They were quite superb: perfectly cooked and with that tang of the sea that only fresh scallops can deliver. Definitely the best lunch we have had... More

An evening & a lunchtime meal sampled on two different occasions, both lovely! It was a little confusing at first to see the menu (a blackboard on the wall) divided into 'small plates' and 'large plates', and worrying that the small might not be adequate for a good appetite. Not to worry though... with a plate of probably the best... More

We ate here 3 nights during our weeks stay in Lochinver. It has a great atmosphere, friendly, cosy, local pub where you can have a drink at the bar while waiting for a table to eat. The food is lovely, fresh local produce - lots of sea food and fish. The hot mackerel was delicious and they do the best... More

We visited Lochinver whilst touring the highlands and were looking for a pub lunch. It is no exaggeration to say it was the best pub lunch we have had in years. I had the mackerel, my wife had fennel & chickpea fritters. It tasted great, the view was great, the beer was good, and the bill was £22! If you... More
