Good beer, good selection of fresh locally sourced food and lovely atmosphere. We were staying in a cabin in Lochinver and enjoyed meeting the locals and savouring some fabulous food. we decided to choose from the small plates menu and created a "Scottish style tapas" meal which was excellent and filling - the fish and the lemon tart were particularly... Great food , great staff, give it a try. Two rooms; nice bright bar overlooking the Loch although other room is very dark. Some dishes are expensive but worth it. Only issue was different prices listed on chalk boards in different rooms for same meals - just a mistake I think.

Good beer, good fish and chips - what more can a fella ask for? We sat by the window with a lovely view down the loch as we drank our beer and enjoyed our fish and chips. The rest of the menu looked good too..

The place was busy and very hot by windows that it was like sitting in a greenhouse. The place has small plates of mostly seafood... and they really mean small. Thankfully had soup as starter else would want to desperately find a non existant local take away. Staff were good which ups the score. Overall over priced starvation.

We were very excited to hear the owners of the Albannach had taken over at The Caberfeidh and we made sure it was our first port of call on arriving in Sutherland. We liked the idea of the small plates menu and we all enjoyed our meal, the scallops & langoustines especially were first class. However there is still some... More

Menu varied but emphasis on freshly caught fish. Some langoustines arrived in restaurant as we were being served! Both had haddock - superb

We had a really good soup here, and a very tasty other 'little bite' (if that is what it was called). There is a menu with a proper meal, and one with smaller items, from which you can choose a few depending on your appetite. The scallops and the pork terrine were amazing.

Don't try take any notice of the website or the large advertising board outside this establishment they are both misleading. The website says food is served 'till 3.00pm and the board outside says in large letters "FOOD SERVED ALL DAY" We tried to get a meal on Thursday 10th July arriving at 2.05. on enquiring at the bar I was... Great food, attentive friendly service, good beer, outstanding value why would you want to go elsewhere. Plus from 9.30pm live music to entertain. Staff were polite, welcoming and helpful - not often found in establishments of this standard.

More than just a place to eat The Caberfeidh offers an evening spent in pleasant company with wholesome and tasty food locally sourced. The staff are all friendly, pleasant and helpful being willing to chat and make you feel welcome. The menu is varied daily and can be a tapas style meal of many small courses or a conventional starter/main... More
