Me and my wife stayed in Lochinver for a week in June. This place was a great find with a more relaxed local pub atmosphere. We didn't eat there. Unfortunatly the one real ale was not on, so we settle for strongbow cider. Staff very polite talking about the area and places to visit. The main problem we encountered was... more

We arrived in Lochinver around 7.30pm to quiet streets and virtually no traffic so, the surprise we experienced when we opened the door to go into Caberfeidh was totally unexpected. We were met by a vibrant, bustling and busy restaurant, what you hope for but rarely get. We were quickly welcomed, shown to our table and drinks soon arrived. We... more

The food at the Caberfeidh is very good: simple but well executed. The dining room is nice. The service could certainly be improved: The staff seemed more interested in exchanging the latest local gossip than taking care of the customers. And we had to fight to get a table in the side corner of the room even though there was... more

This is a relaxed pub/restraunt that doesnt try to be too upmarket like some places do these days. Was bustling with both locals and Spanish lorry drivers collecting seafood pickups from the local harbour which gave the place a good dose of character. The location is great with a view from the bay window at the back bar looking onto... more

I asked the barman if their claim that although I could not book for two people I would only have to wait 10 minutes for a table was correct and was met with indifference. Nevertheless we went that evening and were told that we could only sit at one small table rather than at one for four people (6 were... more

Having read some of the previous reviews I`m wondering if I was at the same place! We spent a week in beautiful Lochinver recently and ate at The Caberfeidh one night. I chose a chicken dish - chicken breast stuffed with smoked bacon in a mustard sauce. I was a little surprised when it arrived swimming in a bright yellow... more

From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome and at home. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was great pub grub. A fine selection of beers, wines and spirits too, including McEwans Export on draught!! Great views down the loch from the bar and the beer garden. A week of blue skies... more
