We called in to this café one lunchtime last week for a well needed refreshment. Really good sandwiches were freshly made together with delicious apple cake and freshly made tea. What more could you ask for on a hot day. The staff were very friendly and if you are up in that part of the country do call in.

Welcoming, good food, though simple and short menu. Excellent service, spotlessly clean, home-made cakes, biscuits etc. Thank you to Sue Ryder staff for directing us this way!

Friendly service, excellent coffee and some lovely-looking cakes (I resisted), including one with rhubarb jam and rose icing, which looked spectacular. Slightly cramped inside, but pretty views to the abbey.

We found this place by accident whilst retreating from a rain shower, although they only seat 14 people at a time the place is deceptively spaceious the food is tasty and freshly made to order, the staff are extremely friendly and professional, due to the size of this bistro style cafe all aspects of the food preparation is visible and... After a wet day walking the hills around Jedburgh with a Rambling group we descended en mass to the town.Ramblers need a cuppa and a scone usually just before cafe closing time.Kate and partner welcomed us warmly into their lovely teashop cum bookshop.Nothing was a trouble for the couple."of course we will remain open for you" and"who needs more hot... Popped in mid-morning for coffee / hot chocolate and a couple of buns to break up a long journey. So glad we by-passed the awful bagpipes, tartan and shortbread places on the A68 and detoured into the town centre. Friendly service and lovely drinks but the experience was spoiled by a burnt teacake which should not have reached the table.... More

Thank you for your review. We are extremely disappointed that your experience was not up to our high standards. We did, until recently, prepare our teacakes in the toaster as it is the quickest way and saves on customers' wait times. Unfortunately, depending on the shape of the teacake, ensuring the inner surfaces (where the butter is spread) are nicely... More

This little place delivered a leisurely lunch for our family of four. Good well done food, sandwiches, salad and cakes. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed but very cosy with only five little tables. Our four was the biggest. Excellent job thank you and fully recommend for leisurely lunchtimes.
