As regular visitors to Jedburgh we had heard good things about Simply Scottish and as we found ourselves in the area yesterday we decided to treat ourselves to lunch. What a disappointment. When we arrived we were told by one of the waitresses to choose a table and that someone would be over to take our order. It was quite... More

Visited with a friend for lunch yesterday. Had been before and found it good - nothing fancy, but now I'm not only vegetarian but gluten free, life can get complicated. However, this was no problem. Ok my main course was baked potato, but had a choice of fillings, (though I yearn for their macaroni cheese, which was always wonderful!), and... More

This is a decent place to have a cuppa in Jedburgh. We visited after walking 9 miles from Denholm to see the abbey so were thirsty and glad to get the tea in a large pot and the offer of cold tap water. Staff friendly enough. And a decent tea cake. The average score represents the fact we didn't have... More

A very decent cup of coffee was accompanied by a decent pear tart and a very fine if quite sweet coffee cake. No hesitation in recommending this place

Now that may seem harsh but this cafe was the business and deserves its rating. We stopped for a sandwich and coffee and I can honestly say it was the best I've eaten. It was great value for money with a plentiful filling & side salad. The young lad that served us was very pleasant and service was prompt. Well... More

It was mid-day and we were looking for a nice place to have lunch and found this lovely cafe. The staff was outstanding, the sandwiches which we had were heavenly with a nice salad included. I ordered a cup of cappacino and it was presented with a beautiful decorations, it really added to the touch.

We stopped for lunch here - between us we had lovely homemade soup, a sandwich and a toastie. All very good - huge portions. Lovely salad with the sandwich and all excellent value. When I ask for decaf tea I usually get offered a list of herbal teas but here there was no problem and it was really good.

My wife and I had a tea in Simply Scottish as part of our bus tour of the British Isles. The service was excellent as were the various food items we were served. Although our tour group was relatively large (49), we were all comfortably seated in a rather small establishment. Along with our tea, we were served four different... More
