Good friendly bar, great location

We stopped off for a drink and snack (pintxo) and service was friendly and prompt and food was good. Lovely location outside. Highly recommended.

This is a Wonderful spot to dine, excellent location, great service, with friendly staff where we enjoyed a nice selection of food. Presentation and flavor are both excellent. Veal scallopini, coquettes, stuffed fried peppers, and frites, done to perfection. I also had fish soup which had a very lovely delicate fresh flavor and we topped it off with wine. Great... More

I have eaten here before on my annual business trip and standards have not slipped over the years. Table service was excellent as were all courses with a great choice of wines local and national. Anchovies, Lamb, fish - all well cooked and presented and seasoned to taste according to wishes. Interesting decor with aspects of Santillana brought up to... More

A few doors down from the Parador, this is a top spot at a sensible price. I'd been before for post dinner drinks (dined elsewhere). This visit opted for Cantabrian anchovies, whose sharpness was immediately countered by the freshest of tomatoes. Main was an entrecôte of of a locally sourced beef (Novilla) cooked to perfection. It was refreshing to see... More

Fine restaurant. Good location, but the menu is a little bit poor. If you want to drink or eat tapas it's perfect. Try the local wines, and white wine with ice in summer. Perfect for the season

We were a party of 12 visiting Santillana del Mar for the Cabalgata de Reyes or wise men visiting Jesus re-enacment. We had a nice lunch, wine and dessert. Our waiter was very prompt and did a great job on handling this large table. Nice location and excellent atmosphere. Good for beer, wine and tapas or lunch. Recomended.

This bar/restaurant is on the Camino de Santiago. As the time of year visited meant we had little choice, low season, we assumed the standard would be mediocre at best. Wrong. The bar staff were charming and spoke a little more English than we did Spanish. The wine was superb and I noticed they were aficionados of Gin...at least a... More

I don't agree with Tedstravelogs from Sydney. I understand why some may think the service is slow and the staff surly, but this misses the point about how important it is to do our best to integrate in regional towns where they do things their way. To watch and listen and be empathetic with a little patience seems to do... More

What's good: the location - smack in the middle of the town's happening square. The outside tables look very inviting - until you make the mistake of going inside or, on the off chance, somebody turns up to serve you. What's not good: almost anything you have the misfortune to eat, the surly, reluctant service, the TV blaring some Euro... More

Maybe someone read negative comments re service because no waiting. When bill came was expecting to be more as seemed amazing value - quality and portions.
