We had a delightful outdoor lunch and had all sorts of food. It was all incredible!!!!. The monk fish, the grilled shrimp, the grilled vegetales. ..mushrooms and more. Hard to find food this good at such a quaint location AND with such fantastic service. They really went out of their way to serve everything just the way we wanted. Wow!!

Spending a week in Santillana, this was the restaurant we returned to. Great food, great price and great people. Two evening menus with a bottle of wine at about 40 euros.

El Castillo serves regional dishes in an almost "pub" like atmosphere. We stopped in while strolling about Santillana del Mar. Took a seat in the back, which was quiet but with a view of the more active bar area. Started with an ensaladilla rusa which was an interesting take on potato salad with color from beets and shrimp on top.... More

We ate here in late May as it was bucketing down with rain and we couldn't get to our first choice restaurant. A wise choice as the food was excellent and even with a nice bottle of Albarino, a three course meal for three the bill was only 65 euros. The set dinner included prawns and clams as starters which... More

A great place for breakfast, when the holidaymakers and tourists and pilgrims haven't got up yet, the early morning sun's flooding the square, and the only people around are locals and delivery van drivers.

Nice looking bar in great location. Like the previous reviewer we were served by the caricature of a grumpy, old bartender but he didn't spoil out visit too much. We had drinks and pintxos while standing outside by the old barrels. The waitress further inside in the restaurant, en route to the toilets, was smiley and friendly enough.

Situated on the main plaza, with seating outside and barrels used for tables. Nice bar area and restaurant. Only spoilt by an un-sociable barman.

We were recommended to go here by our hotel, and we were not disappointed. A bright and lively place with very good food. We were not disappointed in any way and thoroughly recommend. The young owner and his mother seem to work all day every day from morning till night and deserve to be successful.

We went there on a quiet weekday. The waiter, a young man was very nice to us and to our 2 year old son. The food was excellent, very satisfying 'menu del dia' and even though the price is slightly higher than in other places well worth it.Even my son who is a fussy eater loved it.
