Description: This is the second time I've submitted this place and have yet to hear back. I even included a Ft. Smith newspaper review last time. The wife and I stopped here on the last road trip and it was an excellent place. I notice that UrbanSpoon has already listed it, but no reviews. I would like to write my review while it is still fresh on my mind

This was a great place two owners back. Once the place changed hands more than once it was done. Not even a shadow of the original. Sad for me to say how bad the service was last visit. Always out of items listed on menu now also, just sad.

Ate here on 8/7/14 and it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The service was horrible and had to wait for an hour for my food. The sandwich and fries were stone cold and the roast beef had odd green flakes in it. Asked waitress to take it back and took forever to get another... More

Terrible experience! First off the waitress was snotty and rude. She acted like we were inconvience her by being there. We had to ask for menus after like 20 to 30 mintues and she rudely stated they were out menus and we would have to wait. There was only 1 other family who was there, so how can they be... More

The waitress was very thoughtful when I could not order what I wanted because they were out of fish and beans. I ordered fried okra which was delicious, and she even brought a roll to go with it. I really appreciated her thoughtfulness. I have serious food allergies, and it is so hard to travel with them. Finding a place... More

On our first trip to historic Van Buren, I chose Cottage Cafe for our meal..BIG MISTAKE! The blonde waitress seemed agitated when we wanted to first select our meal before ordering a beverage. Food arrived in a timely fashion...looked & tasted fine..but...she never came by for tea refill. I assumed she was tired or having a bad day and suggested... More

This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had (in developed and developing world alike). We wait over one and a half hours for our food. When it arrived it was freezing cold (not cold like sitting out, but cold as in came just from a fridge), greasy, and tasteless. I would recommend avoiding this place at... More

I ate in this restaurant when it was "Brother's Café". The food was not good. That restaurant closed and a new owner opened the restaurant in March, 2014. I almost gagged when I walked in....the carpet is filthy. One would think that a new owner could at least have the carpet shampooed. The menu choices appeared to be the same... More

This small little cottage dining establishment has been in this area for a very long time. My husband and I went on a cold Saturday morning, throwing out our good eating habits for one morning, and we were so glad we did. We don't eat this kind of food often, but when we do, we want the best taste for... More

We are from Texas and seriously this may be the best chicken fried steak we have ever had. We also had homemade chocolate pie that rivals my mom's pie. The burger was also very good. The only complaint we have is we got a very dirty fork but that can happen anywhere. Our server Ronnie was great and took very... More
