Description: Our restaurant is located on the shores of Lough Swilly, at Fahan, Co.Donegal, in the premises of The Railway Tavern which was formally the Station House of the Londonderry & Lough Swilly Railway Company (L&LSR)..Our Main course dishes are cooked to perfection on our wood burning Firebox Grill, just like in the old days were the engineers on the locomotives, used their firebox to heat their snacks !The Bar and Restaurant still have the old fires blazing which create a very cosy , snug room to eat or drink in ..

Celebrated my mums Birthday here with family late last year as a party of ten and was very impressed indeed as always with the offerings here at the Firebox Grill. This restaurant has an ambiance to offer that you will not find anywhere in our hometown of Derry. Open Fire on which the chef cooks his steaks, Cosy warming decor,... More

Ordered a takeaway . Simple order got wrong . Asked for rasher got a lump of gammon on the burger you would need 2 sets of teeth to eat it . Asked for cheese on other burger no cheese. Asked for fried onions got Nicw hard raw ones. Definately going down hill and we will not be back.

Hi Tom , im sorry to hear we got your take away order wrong. A simple human error was made on this occasion. If you hadve been eating in this couldve been rectified right away , and this is just one reason we do not normally do take aways. Our customers come from near and far to sample our food... More

As above. Attended last night and was really please that there is less garlic around, it made such a difference to the after taste. The young girl serving was a real treasure and very knowledgable about the mussels!

Have been to this restaurant before and enjoyed. Went as a party of 6 on Saturday night and again really enjoyed it. However we had out table from 7-9 which is fine, but mains took almost an hour to come. This was fine until we were asked to leave the table immediately after desserts. If they needed the table back,... More

Had been recommended this place by a few people at work so we decided to check it out. If you like your steak then this place is heaven. We had ordered a T-Bone, a Rib Eye and 2 x Surf and Turfs which consisted of fillet steak and tiger prawns. There are all cooked on a wood burning grill that... More

We ate here as a group of 8 in December .... very warm, cosy & friendly - we all had fillet steaks which were melt in the mouth and reasonably priced. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Retired to the bar in front of the fire afterwards and, as one of us had a guitar with us, we decided... More

I have eaten here over the years and i never had a bad experience. I do always order the steaks and they are the best. I have ordered steaks in other places in Derry and in Donegal and none compare. My relatives have come from America and have eaten steaks here and they also are extremely impressed. The next time... More

This restaurant is a former old railway station in a picturesque setting (but not having any view of the scenery, unfortunately) and it has a small bar and a cosy restaurant. The firebox grill is in the middle of the restaurant and a log fire sparks as steaks are cooked on it. The early bird menu was revised since our... More
