Excellent meal, superb service, friendly atmosphere

The service in the Firebox Grill was second to none and the staff were courteous and friendly without being intrusive. What could anyone say about the food other than it was truly superb: variety on the menu was good, the portions were more than good and the food itself (starters, mains and... read more

Love the railway tavern and the layout of the restaurant. the food is quite expensive sometimes for what it is, however the service is good and it's in a good location.

Great atmosphere with welcoming fireplace. The best steak I ever had and great chips and salad. Just hope you don't have to run out for a fire...:-)

After a trip to Malin Head we called in here on the way back home. A quirky location but once inside you instantly feel all warm and cozy. 2 fire places warm the bar and then another that is actually used to cook the streaks and ribs. We arrived at 4:45 and several of us took advantage of the early... More

We have eaten here twice in the last week. Once with family and the second time less formally for an " early bird" ... We just loved the ambiance, the friendliness, the perfect ribs.!! . Great service and real hospitality. Long may it continue. There is something about a real fire and cozying up with a glass of something good... More

Heard a lot about this place, so decided to go and check it out for myself. I was there with a party of 11 people. On entrance the place seemed interesting, a small 'irish pub/restaurant' theme, i was curious. We were sat at in a tight corner, with a packed table, squeaky small chairs in a dark room where the... We had the most yummy meal here on our weekend away to visit some friends in Buncrana. They booked the Firebox as you will not get in on the off chance always busy. Friendly staff great food what more could you ask for in an historical building!
