So whether you are seated outside or if you walk into this place with its small modest tables and chairs, you are probably thinking that this is nothing more than an unassuming Greek Taverna with nothing to impress. We went in around 3pm when the aroma of the fresh food cooking and it was amazing. The owner took us into... More

We chose this because they served rabbit stew; although there were too many onions. The couldn't understand that we wanted the chips with the meal and so it came as a starter. However, they did serve the best house rose.

We are avid users of trip advisor when selecting places to eat, stay and things to do. We did that tonight and the two places we selected were closed for the season. Fortunately, a grocery store owner guided us to Ta Fanaria. We were warmly greeted at the door and shown to our table. We weren't disappointed from there... we... More

It is a typical greek taverna although whatever we ordered was cooked really well. The feta in the oven was really good and the french potatoes were so tasty. The location is nice but one waiter didn't say even hello but the other guy was really helpful.

We liked the atmosphere inside the place in cold weather. Good standard fare. Friendly service. They never recently had some of the dishes advertised outside that we liked in years past. The "barreled wine" ain't.

We chose this quaint backstreet for lunch in Nafplio. The food is traditional home made and they serve all the basic Greek dishes. Reasonably priced too.

Hard to find rabbit stew... let alone fresh stefado. It's here at this little gem restaurant. The chef has been cooking for 32 years at this very spot. Now is a good time to try out the Papoutsia (little shoe) eggplant with meat and bechemel sauce. Hot wood fired stove... great prices. Dinner for two with wine and ouzo 25€... More

Nice location, decent food, fried small fish & zucchini were well fried (not oily), greek salad was not cheap on feta, excellent service (though at the time there were very few customers). Prices were fair for that part of Nafplio. Overall recommended!

After reading that this place was different from the typical tourist tavernas surrounding it, we earmarked it for dinner and ordered 4 or 5 dishes to share. We didn't like any of them, but the worst was certainly the "spicy cheese salad", which was neither spicy nor a salad. This white mush was so unappetizing, that even my husband, who... More
