We very much liked this place. It looks more like restaurant than taverna so traditional in Crete. It is very stylish. The cousine mainly is local. We chose Crete salad, grilled fish and meat bolls. Everything was excellent. House vine was also very good, great better than everywhere we were.

My boyfriend and I ate here on our first night and one of our last. We wanted to give them a second chance, because the reviews were so good we figured we must have just been unlucky. The first night there were hairs in our food, some parts of my chicken were raw, and his shrimps were over cooked. The... More

Not had any bad meals, the keleftico was in puff pastry and very tasty, the local wine real good value at 4euros for 1/2 a kraft, My fave rate dish was the mince beef cannelloni just amazing I had this 3times, you always get Uzo, water melon or chocolate cake at the end of your meal these are free bees.

Lead by Trip Advisor we visited this taverna with high expectations (maybe a little bit too high). The place is refined and, quite opposite to all of the beach front tavernas, really stylish. Very nice! And so is the staff: polite and stylish. A good bottle of wine will be served with real wine glasses, which we hadn't seen yet... More

The medusa has undergone something of a facelift for this season. It was always good, but this year it seems as though they have upped the stakes. The food is excellent the service and atmosphere is superb. The food whilst still predominantly Greek had one or two surprises. I had the beetroot with garlic sauce as a starter on one... More

Whilst we ate at Medusa on a previous visit to Plakias and they served great calamari, this visit we were blown away by the new revamped restaurant which meant a whole new dining experience. The redecoration took place end of 2013 and the attention to detail is phenomenal. From the linen table cloths to the candles in the plants, the... More

Excellent food and house wine. Daily specials that really lasted for just one day. Good Trad greek cooking plus some nice modern twists. Our favourite place to eat in Plakias. Only down side not a very good view but the terrace is very nicely decorated with candles , flowers and herbs.

Seldom do I frequent the same taverna every evening for a month, but I do so at the Medusa in the back street of Plakias. I have done that for four weeks, twice a year for 14 of the last 17 years I have visited Crete, my favourite Greek Island. Having tried most of the other tavernas in Plakias, I... More

We were staying at the studios connected to the taverna, and ate here 3 times, each meal was superb! Wonderful atmosphere, you can tell they put a lot of time into the design of everything! Nikos was a great host and we are looking forward to going back again in August!

Believe the hype! Best food we found in plakias. Contemporary decor, very stylish with linen table clothes and heavy water tumblers plus majolica type bread baskets etc. excellent food. More a classy restaurant serving Greek food than a conventional taverna. A must try.
