Located just outside the ‘centre’ of Plakias, 50 meters further then the Post office, Medusa is a real gem. Beautiful decorated, linen table cloths, soft Greek music and absolutely delicious Greek dishes (but not more expensive than elsewhere) this is a ‘must to go’ restaurant. After five or six holidays in Plakias this is by far the best of all... More

Where to start, over the years I have been so many times to this jewel of a restaurant. I always make sure I visit this place whenever I'm in Plakias. Friendly staff, and a wonderful atmosphere, with a world class quality food. If you are ever in Plakias then this place is simply a must !!!!

Didn't think we would go into this restaurant because we normally like the traditional rather than the up market but we went in because of the reports of good food. The restaurant itself, the decor, etc is beautiful, the crockery and glassware very unusual, with table candles in glass containers which gives a nice glow to the restaurant. There is... More

Been visiting Plakias for 27 years and have normally eaten at Lysseos, but we thought we would give the Medusa a chance as it was my wife's birthday. Extremely happy. Nicos the owner was very attentive and charming. Being in the trade we asked Nicos about the Tuna and the swordfish, knowing it can be overcooked and dry. Nicos rose... More

We had a stay for 12 days in Plakias. In the beginning we went every day into an other restaurant (on te beach). Then we discover Taverne Medusa. Fantastic! It's not on the beach but so tastfull !!! Prices and wine are good. Peaple are friendly. Really a restaurant to advise to peaple who like tastfull and fine, fresh food.

Two years since we have been here and the place has been completely refurbished. Still good honest Greek food. It is quiet and away from the tourist traffic and well worth seeking out down one of the back streets. Would we go back? You betcha -and I hope we will.

A lovely setting but maybe they're trying too hard to set themselves apart from other tavernas in Plakias. Food alternated between tasteless pasta and oversalted vegetables. Maybe we caught them on a bad night but it didnt appear that they cared. Far better food to be had in more traditional tavernas in the town or in Mirthios. We wont be... More

this was the most elegant taverna and food is one of the best you could find in Crete. Just go there - it is sublime and so is the restaurant. Wonderful staff too

The best food in Plakias, by far. My daughter and I had some lamb cooked with stamnagathia that was absolutely exquisite! Returned several times and every meal was amazing. Nice place, friendly staff and great value for money.
