We drove some distance to meet here for lunch with friends who had come even further. La Table Cathare - Chez Angel made our respective journeys worthwhile, as all four of us had a most enjoyable lunch. A wisely small menu of honest, traditional food well-cooked and presented and at a very reasonable price. Excellent selection of wines, too, and... More

We enjoyed a delicious dinner that was made with fresh, local ingredients. Our meas were tasty and the presentation was lovely. The service was very good and we had the opportunity meet the owner/chef, and his wife, who are a lovely couple that work hard to make your dining experience memorable and pleasant. I would come back again!

This restaurant was recommended by our Chambres D’Hotes owner as a popular venue used by local clientele . The chef & “front of house” originate from Spain & took over the premises just over a year ago & are making every endeavour to serve locally produced & often organic, food. The duck dishes & the goats cheese salad are to... More

The food was just average regional fare, bean stew (cassoulet) and not much choice, not innovative just well average. However with few choices nearby one has to eat something; however the boulangerie over the road was open on the Sunday we visited and had a great choice of pies and cakes so perhaps picnic in the village may be better.... I am in the deep south west of France, not far from the Pyrenees, in the Languedoc Roussillon region. I've already had three meals in this restaurant in Fanjeaux, and I want to express my gratitude to the chef, because it is not snobbish, it's direct and you understand it's simple, but really authentic. This time I just had a... More

A gem of a place, one that makes France proud of it's lunchtime menu's. It is easy to find, on the main that goes past the old hilltop village of Fanjeaux. We took the Euro 13 Lunch menu du jour which proved truly excellent value for money. There was a choice of 3 starters and mains and no less than... More

Ate here on on Sunday along with 12 friends. We all ordered the 30 euro menu cathare and unanimously chose the Cassoulet. Most of of had the foie gras starter. The food was excellent both in quality and quantity to satisfy the hungriest diner. We were served a tray of mixed hot appetizers including accras and gratinated mussels while we... More

We had pre ordered the Zarzuela ( Catalan fish stew ) as it can only be prepared to order..What a success ! It was absolutely first class, a genuine delight & something to be recommended. The desserts were equally impressive & the wines complimented the food well.. an exceptional meal. The family who run the restaurant are very welcoming, pleasant... More

We have eaten twice at La Table Cathar since the new owners took over in April/May 2013 and we're delighted to have it so close to us! We have also sent a few of our guests there and we have only received good news about it. A very warm welcome, no fuss efficiant service, a good menu with a nice... More
