Our family of 6 very much enjoyed stopping for a little lunch with Carmen. We had two little girls in the group who loved browsing in the little boutique area set up in the single room salon! They even spent some of their judiciously allocated souvenir savings! A freshly made sandwich or salad, a little wine and a conversation with... More

Like most reviewers stumbles upon this quaint Salon De The. As it was a blisteringly hot day La Pelerine Was a mat welcome find. The home made lemonade was refreshing as well as the English tea. My wife enjoyed the browse through the various trinkets and knick knacks on display

We stumbled upon this cute place on a hot afternoon in July. We just stopped in for an ice tea and coffee, but the place was very cool, comfortable and refreshing. The owner was very patient with our rudimentary French. Will definitely drop in again for something more substantial next time.

To find La Pelerine is like finding a special place with a very special person Carmen to look after you. Up a side street in the beautiful village of Fanjeaux it is not hard to find if you follow the signs. During my stay in Fanjeaux in July 2011, I visited Carmen in her quaint little tea shop several times. I enjoyed the creative and homelike atmosphere that featured some of Carmen's own handiwork and made it not only a great place to have lunch but to shop for souvenirs made by local artisans. Carmen's specialty is sunflowers (very prominent in... More

We have been coming to see carmen every year for the last 4 years. This is a perfect little tea shop/cafe tucked away in up the hill. Park in the square and stroll up. It's always a pleasure and a treat. There is no menu it's whatever carmen has in. Sometimes it's a lovely simple salad. Other times it's cake... More

This tiny cafe is hidden up a hill in the quiet village of Fanjeaux which is famous for its panoramic viewing point. On the way there, find this delightful place and enjoy a drink and a generous slice of homemade apple pie. Carmen, the owner, is very interesting to talk to (she speaks excellent English) as she travels widely. She... More

I visited this charming salon de the last summer. La Pelerine offered a cool place to rest, charming wares to browse (and purchase) and fresh, homemade lemonade for us all to sip. If driving around this area of France, Fanjeaux is a charming perched town and La Pelerine is a wonderful place to visit!

We discovered this cafe a couple of years ago after we failed to find a post-market pit stop in Mirepoix. Stumbling across La Pelerine, we were delighted to indulge in great coffee, interesting sandwiches/salads and insider info about the inhabitants - past and present - of Fanjeaux and its convent. Carmen is a wonderful hostess, and we visited again in... More

We visited Fanjeaux in June 2010 and visited La Pelerine tea shop/art gallery/crafts display shop. What a wonderful find. The menu was lovely with the best ever freshly squeezed orange juice ever! The owner Carmen is a lovely person who chatted with us about the area, arts and all subjects under the sun. It was a great afternoon with fantastic... More
