A haven of tranquillity

We have visited the Auberge over a number of years and have never been disappointed. The meals have always been superb and this year's breakfast at 13 euros is very well worth it with individual pots of fresh fruit, yoghurts, croissant, freshly squeezed orange juice, and home baked rolls. We've eaten here several times in the 10 years we've lived in this area. It really is an amazing place to eat, reserved perhaps for special occasions, due to the perfectly justified upper end price range. It's truly an exquisite dining experience. Summer time is even better with a table outside in the beautiful gardens. Top class, refined dining at... More

We went to the L'Auberge du Pont Romain for lunch and sat down in the beautiful garden. Quietly situated on the border of Sommieres. The place has, besides the restaurant, also hotel facilities. The place looks inside a little bit outdated, but the food is very 2013! The place is run by to brothers. One as chef, the other as... More

We had a wonderful dinner here, the food was excellently prepared and presented, service was equal to the food. We will definitely visit again when in France!

Another fabulous meal in this lovely restaurant! As ever we were made very welcome by Isabelle and Frederic. The food was superb - total work of art and tasted every bit as good as it looked! It is just a pity it wasn't busier but nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening with good friends!

Whilst staying in sommieres we wanted to try some of the local restaurants, and decided to splash out a little on this one, and Im so glad we did. We decided to go for Sunday lunch, we were warmly welcomed and offered a nice outdoor table which allowed out 2 year old to toddle around the garden safely. we went... More

We went there for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. It was so wonderful from start to finish. I have been eating in french restaurants all my life but this was the best meal I have had. The service was impeccable, the food light and a delectable combination of flavours, from the start to the finish.

It was quite by chance that we discovered L'Auberge du Pont Romain and would dearly have liked to stay there but we were already booked on a 3nights for 2 in Castries. We settled for lunch and had a very special meal. The staff were friendly and charming and the food was absolutely first class. We liked it so much... More

I liked this place from the moment I parked the car (free car park). Lovely big old rooms spacious for 2 adults and our 16 year old son. Just stayed one night. Enjoyed the continental breakfast (expensive) and the friendly staff. If you want a shiny modern hotel, then don't come here. We enjoyed our stay.

My colleague and I went for the menu de l'Auberge at 38€ a head. The hors d'oeuvres of tapenade and a foamy verrine were light and delicate. My bradade in balls of choux pastry on a coulis of peas was a bit heavy, the brandade overpowered the taste of the pea coulis, my colleague said her cold tomato soup was... More
