The food was good and the wine very nice but the service was not great and very slow. Had to keep reminding the waiter of our drinks and only got it after our food. Would come back though for the view and food.

Sitting in the sun, watching the view is wonderful, listening to the musicians the play is enchanting, being able to take someone very old there and it's easy access is great - and then there's the food and the service - every time I go to Cape Town, this is a favourite for lunch and it has never disappointed!

As weather forecasts said a gale was predicted, and the winds had started to build up, we sought sanctuary at Berthas, and were provided with solid seaside fare, fish and chips were very tasty, the Cape Malay Curry was delicious, but there were mixed reviews on the chicken burgers (one said bland, the other delicious!). Altogether reasonably priced good food.

A beautiful venue, with superb views. We had lunch there yesterday, the service was dreadfully slow, and the food un-remarkable.

We'd visited in the summer and enjoyed the setting immensely. In winter the parking is far better but the atmosphere is missing. Not a problem though, as the food and service was good. The kiddies portions are really small and so, for our son, aged ten, we ordered and paid for a double portion. The chicken pasta is huge. The... More

This is our second visit at the restaurant, that time it was great, there fore we decided to come back. This time though...wish we hadn't. Sat down and had to wait 20 minutes to even get a menu, and the place wasn't even that busy. Order drinks and food, drinks we have to remind them about and they only comes... More

The location is great... right on the water...perfect for an afternoon beer or lunch.... the place is clean... the staff is friendly.... The local 'dessert' pudding is fantastic... I had a local seafood dish.. which I enjoyed... nothing special or fancy... but tasty and filling.

This is a nice little restaurant by the pier. Good views, ok food and decent value. I had the seafood curry, which was ok, but not like the curry I'm used to in Asia, US, or UK. I'd stick with the grilled or fried seafood, or even the burger, which was quite good.

Have been visiting Simon's Town since 1982 from the UK. Family are local so always popping in for a sundowner or two when we are over there. It's very relaxing and has great views. Have had numerous meals here too over the years..b/f, lunches and dinner. Always very enjoyable. Roll on 2015

Where do I start? Overpriced. Poor food. Horrendous & I do mean horrendous service. Simply the worst place in the South Peninsula (of the many terrible options).
