The service was excellent, the food was tasty, we had tea served how it should be and not in a mug. The only thing that was a thumbs down was the room in which we sat , was like a sunday school room, just needs some tweeks. (sorry)

Lucy's tea room is a very special place , a hidden gem in the Nottinghamshire countryside. In the sunshine you can enjoy the lovely garden and in less clement weather the converted barn/ coach house is very pretty all decorated in quirky traditional styling with a strong Cath Kidston influence. The food is delicious all extremely fresh and beautifully presented... More

Having cycled past on several occasions we decided to call for just a cup of coffee towards the tail end of an energetic ride.We were impressed with the setting(we sat in the courtyard) ,the welcome by the owners and then by the quality of the coffee. We also indulged in a plate of homemade cookies which were delicious. The menu looked very... Some of Lucy's jams were bought for me as a gift, and they were wonderful. My particular favourite was the Spiced Pear (even my friend visiting from France, despite saying that they wouldn't be as good as French jams, had to eat his words once he'd tasted this one...excuse the pun). But the Damson & Plum was wonderful too. They... More

Dropped in with my family for a late breakfast. We had a lovely pot of tea served in China cups and the most fantastic Hot Chocolate with cream and Marshmallows. I had a large plate of Beans on Toast and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his Scrambled Eggs and ham on toast. My daughter wanted a scone with cream but couldn't... More

Dropped in on passing. Wish we hadn't bothered. We both ordered tea and scones. I had fruit and my wife chose a plain one. Mine was a very tiny triangle of nothingness. My wife's was slightly bigger but looked dry and grey and tasted old. A minute portion of jam and cream was served with each. Although a pleasant environment... More

Lucy and her team made the most wonderful buffet you could imagine. The food was very fresh and abundant. The huge variety of dishes including the most glorious sweets were all splendidly presented. The birthday cake was incredible, 3 tiers of fabulously decorated fruit cake. Lucy and her team were friendly and super efficient. I thoroughly recommend Lucy, she really... More

We are local and there are lots of excellent places in Notts for afternoon tea, however you will not find anywhere so quintessentially English or sumptuous than here. With options to relax indoors in the cosy tearoom, Vicarage courtyard or lawned gardens with gazebos and with friendly efficient service you have a choice of many teas, coffees, savoury and sweet... Simply lovely. If you are ever in the Southwell/Fiskerton/Rolleston/Newark area on a sunny Friday Saturday or Sunday morning in the Spring/Summer (closed September onwards) and want to chill in the lovely garden of the old vicarage with a choice of tea's and homemade cakes/ jams / or a salad/quiche etc, then seek out this hidden Gem. Simply wonderful. Tasty food,... More

A real treat and a fabulous find. We took afternoon tea in the gardens and received a warm welcome, friendly chat and attentive service. This is a splendid spot to enjoy a large range of homemade delights in peaceful surroundings. The 'Grand Afternoon Tea' is aptly named with a generous range of sumptuous homemade cakes, cookies, scones, jams - amazing... More
