This place was recommended to us by a local. A simple eatery with great local cuisine. Portions are big and the quality is good. BBQ and fresh juice! A perfect way to end a day in Petra.

Because of the recommendation in the Rough Guides we took diner at this place. I think it's a place where both tourists and locals eat. It's not a luxurious place, but it's clean and the food was good. It's far better (and cheaper!) than most of the touristic restaurants at Petra's entrance.

We asked our bellboy where to get a good shawarma and he recommended this restaurant. We ordered the plate and wow! We could have shared it and had some left over. That didn't stop us from making every attempt to eat the entire plate of food. I will be back there again, and again, and again.

simple, straightforward place and food - but good and plentiful portions. I had three dishes which was one too many though had been fine elsewhere. seems a busy, popular place. Excellent in the context of wadi musa

Good honest food reasonably priced. No frills but clean venue and very friendly. Will suggest different tastes if you are not familiar with the local cuisine.

My wife and I wanted some traditional Jordanian food and stumbled across this place. We decided to go in after noticing that it was full of Jordanians and not tourists. The food is excellent, the service friendly, and a great atmosphere. It is also reasonably priced. Worth a visit

Al Arabi is located at the round about at Wadi Musa. The food was tasty especially the eggplant kebab, and the basic houmus. The service is prompt, the place has some room for improvement as the space is limited. Though, it is a good place to recommend.

We ate here twice and both times clientelle were a mixture of locals and tourists, the staff extremely friendly, and the food fantastic. A wider range than many similar restaurants so easy to return to try something new. It was also great to be able to swap tips with other tourists and get advice on our forthcoming visit into Petra... My husband and I, who are Jordanians from Amman, stopped by with two friends who were visiting Jordan for the first time to get some food for the drive back to Amman after visiting Petra. We were told by a waiter at one restaurant (which actually served us a nice meal) that the food would be better and prices more... More
